That fact is a majority of why the specs are so high, I'd be willing to bet. I'm not looking forward to performance at launch, but at the very least, they have experience with this kind of thing from Rise and Dragon's Dogma 2. Things should be smoother than Dragon's Dogma 2's launch, at the very least. Hopefully.
I have a feeling the performance will be worse than DD2. My only hope is that, by being a different team, they may know how to work better with the engine than DD team, but the terrible requeriments just scream "poor optimization".
its been instanced based arenas the whole time, why would it change now?
like, at best its gonna be a Guiding Lands situation where you stay longer for Reasons:tm: but thats still not really open world.
Performance will still be the same and so does the point.
i have concerns over the settings too, but the people here are missing 2 points:
its not open world, first and foremost, or at least was never announced as such, and not shown as such either.
and secondly: the performance issues of dd2 come from a physic engine that is checking for every single npc rendered, which causes major issues in the towns, but not in the open world itself.
wilds, to anything they have shown, does not appear to have any need for a physics engine like that, it doesn't need to check for gravity and object fall speed constantly for every creature in the area.
i get some of the concern due to the specs they revealed, but its not a DD2 situation just yet, from what they have shown.
But you can keep on hampering about me mentioning "open world" as much as you like.
What I've seen in the shown footage is Domga 2's city performance in every single video.
In combination with what I quoted in OP, it ended up being confirmation.
Either on purpose / willful ignorance or you're physically incapable, with the latter not being your fault.
sorry if you genuinely believe that from any of the gameplay reveals and dont actually want to provide an example then i realize this is just complaining for the sake of complaining for you, good luck with that
There is nothing else I can provide you with.
I'm trying my very best to stay cordial with you but you are trying your damnest to make it very challenging.
you haven't provided me with anything, you haven't even told me what you are seeing that you are concerned about in any of the videos.
also: as for being "cordial"
you haven't been from the start, i don't really care though, i cant stop you from your own actions.
There is nothing I can provide you with if you can't see that the game is running at 30 FPS tops, or even lower in certain scenes, in all the curated PR footage.
The TGS live footage is one of the only 60fps recordings, I assume it's played on a PC, and the framerate is all over the place there aswell. It's better, but it's the Dogma 2 kind of better. In empty areas it's fine, for the most part at least. As soon as it's not empty anymore, it goes haywire.
I said I'm trying my best to stay cordial. My best is not the best in the world. If I wasn't trying, our conversation would look very different.
And don't give me this "you haven't been from the start". You've came in here with a certain, let's call it attitude, yourself aswell.
like genuinely, just provide the video if you're seeing it.

I dunno why you keep asking for it when I said multiple times that it's all footage.
I'm not giving you timestamps or anything. Not here to spoon feed you.
