$96 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Canadian dollars for the base game?
I'm never buying another capcom game.

This pricing is downright atrocious.

The typical AAA game here is 89.99, but for some reason this game goes beyond that to 96.99. It's a bit odd, but matches (almost) the ~27 cent difference between the USD and CAD. Not entirely sure why they felt the need to add that extra $7.

Yup. This is the new normal. And we can thank folks such as the couple idiots in this very thread for normalizing it: Kackstift & Poyzo. I'm sure more people will add themselves to the list before this thread dies.

Looking forward to 2030 prices: $176 for the base version, $666 for the collector's.

I remember back in the 90s and 00s when it was expected that gaming going fully digital would lower prices. Lol

Of course, that was before the mainstream bandwagon gamers (Kackstift & Poyzo) joined the party and publishers found the 'Yes Men' they needed to justify going in the opposite direction of common sense: fully digital = HIGHER prices.

I can't wait for this industry to crash and burn.

Ah I love comments like this. Let me introduce you to a brand new word: "inflation".
Lets take your example and go back to 1990. Back then you'd have to spend 40 bucks to spend the equivalent of $96 today.
Gaming hasnt become more expensive. It was always this expensive. Have some common sense...

For a while we Canadians coasted off such benefits as companies like Capcom not accounting for a regional price difference between the US and Canada. I remember buying Resident Evil Revelations 2 when it just came out. I got it for like 15$ cheaper than Americans because of that. These days everyone always accounts for CAD being 75% the value of USD and some even round the price up afterwards.

Anyway. Capcom charging 70$ USD for Wilds isn't that surprising. As a Canadian, I was already used to paying 84$ CAD for 60$ USD games. The 96$ CAD was inevitable as the +10$ USD price increase happened. Very few games are worth this price, but to me Wilds is one of those games.

Here's an idea:

Step 1 -Don't buy the game at launch, let other people deal with Optimization problems/Denuvo/Week 1 patches and buy the game later with the G rank expansion at a fraction of the price.

Step 2 - ???

Step 3 - Profit.
