I dislike the increased Hitstop and return of Vaulting Dance
No, not farming clown awards, just felt the need to place my complaint somewhere the Devs may see it. Or not.

You don't need to agree, you also don't need to hate me for my opinion either.

In the Japanese demo event they have shown a huge increase in hitstop, looks good in some places, looks comically bad in others (like IG Strong Jumping Advancing Slash). I liked the lack of hitstop in the beta and I'm unhappy with the change.

They've also shown the return of the Vaulting Dance, otherwise known as "bounce" for Insect Glaive, the automatic vault back up into the air to allow people to helicopters around not doing any real damage.

Hitstops can't be made optional, unfortunately. It would destroy balance as Hitstops actively reduce dps so anyone using Hitstops would be nerfing their damage in comparison to people not using it.

Same with Vaulting Dance (I saw they were going to make changes based on feedback, did they confirm Vaulting Dance is returning?), it's part of the weapon's kit so the only way to make it optional is to self-impose a restriction to not use it as much as possible.
I uh, kinda hated hitstop. My big problem with it is that while it CAN make a hit feel more impactful, I feel like it has to slow *everything* down. I genuinely preferred the fluid feeling of not being artifically slowed down by the game and then whacked because I took a risk I SHOULD be able to take, but someone decided "Wouldn't it be cool if this attack took 1s longer to cooldown?"
No! it wouldn't!

Ultrakill gets it. Ultrakill freezes the entire game for a fraction of a moment to let you know you just landed a parry or some ♥♥♥♥.
Vaulting dance return is good. Its a great way to move across a monster and could in theory combo great into descending thrust giving you a more time to charge it making the weapon feel a little less clunky

I mean if people want to lower their DPS by making an optional visual change, that's fine?

That's been standard on a lot of FPS/3PS shooters for over a decade now.

Vaulting dance is confirmed back, and I dislike that the autobounce is not optional.

true. I think one bounce would be best so you have movement but it doesn't encourage spam

That is just excessive, they went way too far in the other direction. That makes the entire combo look sluggish as hell.

I agree that Hitstop should simply have stayed away. The feeling that you are hitting hard? No, I don't have that feeling. It feels like I'm weak. As if I would stop the hit in the middle. A hit with a Hitstop in real life? A lumberjack would hit a tree for 3 years and it would only just scratch the bark. For me it was much better without Hitstop. I've never liked Hitstop in any game. And now we've finally had a Monster Hunter with fluid combat animations and we've just jumped back 20 years into the past with the new patch.

Having all the bounces back is so terrible, the hit lag looks fine to me though. But I'm also easy to please.

My concern is that if IG which is one of the faster weapons has this excessive of hitstop on hits, I can only imagine how excessively applied it is to other speedier weapons like SnS, DB.

What a shame because I enjoyed the game play of the first beta minus obvious performance shortcomings. Personally I don't need the game to artificially stop me to feel "power" I don't need it in other action games nor do top tier action titles apply it in such a manner if at all.

I imagine they'll have to tweak it before launch, but I will be posting some pretty blunt feedback.
