Also you can always play through GeForce Now for a tiny fraction of cost of a decent PC. The $15 package provides PC rig which cost close to $3000, if not more.
I would blame that on the pc market. Theyre making games using the best of the best specs they can reasonably use. However the pc market is going to always change and add more and more powerful components. And from what i can tell, game devs will try and push more and more of their games to use all of the power they can get. The high prices are whats gatekeeping us as gamers from having a proper experience on PC, because of the absurd prices. However once the next generation of parts comes out, the older ones get cheaper. the 50 series cards are supposed to come out next year, so as soon as games start getting made for them, then thats when the prices will fall, which is a bit unfortunate.
