but for monhun? "fighting monsters in action based combat to get gear to progress"? thats just arpgs
"but only big monsters" bossrush then
i could see a new tag for the series in the future, but 'monster hunter-like' is pretty long and doesnt roll off the tongue as well, not sure what else it could be called though. 'hunter-like' is all i could think of but thats dumb seeing as its not a hunting game lol

Those I recall:
- God Eater: They more of less failed miserably with their 3rd title who came with high hopes of finding their own spot under the sun. Lack of meaningful improvements, lackluster characters roster, boring maps and a story full of outdated tropes couldn't make the game justice. I wouldn't write off this series yet, but the chances aren't that high.
- Toukiden / Wild Hearts: Well known for being utterly crap ports on PC, these games haven't managed to do so well and thus I doubt we'll be hearing about them any time soon. Even EA in the case of the latter decided to pull the plug because it was such a massive flop.
- Freedom Wars/Soul Sacrifice: Both dead since a long time ago, never mentioned again.
- Dauntless: Have their own niche following, but all in all I don't know much about this one, except that it's F2P and I don't enjoy the art direction that much.
With the failure of earning success with the formula, I doubt we'll see that many (if any) trying to bring other games of the genre in the near future to make such tag meaningful.
Good news, I really liked that game back when I actually had a Vita.
Wild hearts was such a beautiful and fun game. I enjoyed it as much as monster hunter. Honestly I even enjoyed it more than the mh wilds beta l. I really hope they will do a sequel one day
