No they dont, if I boot up my n64 and start playing any game there they have no power in the world to stop me unless they illegally break into my house. Wtf are you talking about.

*ehem* "Cease and Desist"

Nintendo in reality can deny you playing on the n64 and has copyright striked people who streamed n64 games their reason "You emulated our game" even if you bought the game system and the game.
I dont know about pure streamer uses emu takedowns when a game fully was released.

I do know of one person that comissioned an MP mod for a zelda game that got taken down (with obvious reason cause thats tampering with a whole game), and a emu console, aside from targeting the devs of emus themselfs, and a recent presumedly NDA strike because a guy streamed non releassed games prior release

But they otherwise I dont think ever targeted players. One woujld think GDQ would be taken down then ages ago.

Bare in mind, it's legal almost everywhere to make use of your own cartridges.

Back in MH's case however, MH doesnt really contain licensing or something similair where a third party etxept valve would forcefully shut it down and I just dont see valve going bankrubt with steam being a thing. They probally probally make much more money then your average successfull store.

Want to add Ninteno sued a guy for selling his n64, the amount they sued him for $25.

*ehem* and how would they know that I'm playing with my n64? Considering that the thing can't even connect to the internet and it's not like nintendo is spying on me… Lol you clearly are paranoid, it must be hell to live in your head.

"Hard Drive (stylized in all caps) is an American satirical video game news website co-founded in 2017 by the editors of The Hard Times.[1] Due to their similar writing style, Hard Drive is frequently compared to The Onion and was named 'The Onion of video games' by both Vice and Uproxx."
LMAO, paranoid and gullible.

Still don't change the fact they can in theory do it, because it is in their license and agreement, take a read of it, plus steam already have the "you buy only a license to use the product" meaning they can pull it whenever they want however they want.

Might been satire then it is my bad, but they STILL can just take it from you because japanese laws are like that.

Too add how much modern physcal copies work that you must downloaded rest of the game via internet, what do you think happens if you can't do it anymore.

Even physical copies are considered liscenses so they can be revoked, same goes with cars infact companies can just deactivate modern cars due to breach of contract.

Skull Girls got edited even if you've "purchased" the product.

Palworld is "unavailable" to Japan due to the current lawsuit.

I, too, lost the ability to watch the first Transformers movie AFTER purchasing it in the 5 movie collection.

First, its video games, and then its your digital movie collection.

What does this has to do with what Guest was saying about nintendo suing a guy for selling his n64 and being able to go into your house and take your games?

And still, they can release an update that pretty much breaks the game entirely or straight up remove it, but when that happens the developer/publisher will lose the respect from their fans and fans would never buy games from them.

I certainly will never buy another ubisoft game ever since they removed the crew, because i know that they are capable of doing that with any other game they publish.

If you are willing to believe that everyone not only can do it, but WILL do it, then never buy anything ever again and start living like an amish if you are that paranoid.

There is a possibility on the digital side, you cannot deny that.
I cannot deny anymore due to the fact that the movie that I bought IN A DIGITAL BUNDLE was "unbundled" and needs "Paramount Subscription" to watch it now.

I am not saying that physical games are going to be taken from you but moreso in the digital side of things, even with those physical games.

Games that require online passes will die because the servers will die as well.

Will they come knocking at your door and take your physical games? No, they won't.

Will there be a slight chance they will take away your digital games? Yes, unless you live in the EU, which has a completely different law compared to the rest of the world.

Just like the saying "the world doesn't revolve around you", it doesn't also revolve around the EU laws either.

Its very much sattire and japanese laws onlly aply in japan. They cant just remove your license like that on steam. This only once again, applies to grey market keys that arnt activated yet that are suspected of fraud by the developers.

Once activated, it stays.

Taken from nintendo user agreement
Article 8 Court of Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute between you and Nintendo arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kyoto District Court as the court of first instance.

They have it in fine print, in theory they can, will they do it? No.

Yes you are right, but it's like there is still a possibility that a meteor hits Steam's servers and all your games will be lost forever. Can it happen? Yes. Will you live in fear for the rest of your life because of it? I know I won't.
