it's not the first character with glasses, it wont be the last
The series has changed mostly into a steampunk aesthetic for quite a while now. The whole pre-industrial thing is long gone.
Also, have you for a moment realized these glasses are very old models that came back into fashion recently and not something entirely new? It's just a larger version of the third fleet master in world, I can totally see it in line with the in game's technology.
Heck, check the chief researcher glasses from Generations, they're way more modern looking than Alma's.
And on top of all that, it's their world. They decide what's possible or out of place on their own piece of work.
Edit: misspelled Bherna
If you can’t see the difference in the glasses or even in the jacket, you needs more modern glasses, just like Alma 😂.
Is that a coincidence in the current year? Iunno, maybe...
Someone just forgot to do a consistency check 😂.
And again, how is the jacket an issue when we've had "handlers" wearing something that's basically a flight attendant uniform two generations ago.

You can see concept art and in-game models at the bottom of the page. The Bherna Gal outfit is basically indistinguishable from a flight attendant cosplay.
If anything stands out. It's the skin tight underwear your hunter can wear. It looks like scuba/diving wear. Now that's feels out of place. As scuba suits are made with synthetic rubber and it sorta looks like your underwear is also made out of synthetic rubber by proxy.
Gunlances actually contain a tank holding a Burst Arowana with about 15 levels of Recovery Speed. When reloading, you rip off some scales and load them into your magazine.
No, you're just the only one doesn't know that past characters wore modern glasses, too, like the Guildmarm.
