Anyone play dual blades during the beta? How were they?
Debating starting Wilds with a weapon outside my comfort zone.

I mean why not take this time to learn a new weapon, especially with the LR monsters.

They look fun from the YT videos I have seen.

My PC did not meet the standards to play the Beta, so sadly I can't answer your question, thx to the developers not caring for people with older PC's. Even if, I think I would not have chosen Dual Blades to try out. I'm more interested in IG and GS for now. GS is the new weapon I'm learning in MHW and it's quite fun so far.

Seems to be somewhere in between World and Rise. Don't know the exact details though.

IG feels terrible in WIlds. I don't think I'll use that weapon at all if it doesn't change.
Bow is interesting with the new moves it got.

Heavy weapons like the hammer lost their oomph. If you played Rise you'll know what that means.

The beta had no hitstop on the attacks. Look at people landing TCSs and it looked like they whiffed, most attacks I made in Wilds beta I only knew it connected because the damage number showed up. Hitstop is important and I hope the lack of it is just a beta thing.

GS looks great with focus mode moving tCS and its offset attack. I don't think I'll start Wilds with it, but might get into it when I can farm good gear.

Wow, if this is *normal* and not a beta glitch I dont know if I can play this weapon.

Hopefully the video starts at the correct timestamp. 1:52

IG feels amazing in wild, it just a new playstyle, sure it sucks to lose one, but it is no way terrible. the only issue is that to many buttons to hold and aim correctly while doing certain moves.

Dual blade is focusing a lot, and i mean A LOT on evading. So i hope you like evading attacks often ^^. Playstyle is really fast.

And i will state this again. This is a demo so numbers are not to go off at all, Hammer also had one of the hardest hitting moves. it has oomph, it just does not feel the same with no hit lag

I never played MH before and am a noob.
Was playing around with a bunch of weapons.
As a noob, I mostly liked sword & shield and dual blades.
Preferred sword & shield because it felt like playing a classic 3rd person game, dual blades felt like hitting countless times but more like bee stings and without defense.

But if you want to be fast paced in this franchise there aren't a thousand options.
I also liked the Charged Blade because you have two fighting options.

DB feel great, one of the weapons I'll consider using a lot, you get the best evade in the game and that spin attack after every wound for huge damage (I think they call it spinning dance). From what I tested it was the weapon that got changed the least from world, and that can be a good thing if you enjoyed it in the past, but I think it makes really great use of the new game mechanics so overall it got improved for me.

When i started monster hunter world i played greatsword and was so confused. I like big chunky swords, so that seemed like the obvious start, but then i gave charge blade and switch axe a try. Confused me even more, but when it clicked, i love them. Nowadays i play SA, CB, GS and HBG

I main Dual blades as i like the mobility. I originally started out with a switch axe on monster hunter ultimate on the Wii u. Switch axe is fun as well if you can get the hang of it.

Demon mode is your friend with dual blades, you hit fast as much as possible and then back off. Since i am so mobile, i try and bring in items to support other hunters like life powder and upgraded demon/armor potions that share with nearby people.

I suck at i-framing, but then again I gravitate towards shield weapons.

I'm playing DBs in world rn and trying to get better at iframing.

yea, since its my main
i gotta say the weakpoint thingy definetly made them stronger and more viable compared to word with the stupid clutch claw, otherwise its the same as with world but with more combos that you can do if you get the right moment

Well to enter BDM(boosted demon mode) you have to perfect evade(increase dmg raw/ele, and eneables attacking while evading) So it might not be the best fit for you :/

the boosted mode isnt really needed to do good dps though, its just a nice bonus if your fast enough
