If I have only $700, should I buy a PS5 or build a PC to run Monhunt Wilds?

with thay much of a budget you could assemble a rig that runs the game at 45 fps in 1080 with framegen

You'll have to pay for online. This can come with some benefits or negatives. The online service you're paying for will be more moderated. Like 60$ a year.

Plus side is less cheaters if you're playing against console only players (like basically non-existent amounts of cheaters). Downside is that doesn't really matter for a game like Monster Hunter.

Also, on PC you never need to leave your old library of games behind with any newer generation consoles. Well... that's not entirely true. You will have to leave some old games behind on PC cause they'll eventually just not work on modern computers. But those are few and far between.

Might be a possibillity. I wouldnt know if it is optionial.

I hope jCP is optionial cause PC has mod possibillity and if theres a mod like Icemod coming I do like to play that with a friend,.

A PC isn't just an entertainment device, it can be a workhorse unlike a PS5. You can also modify it hardware wise and software wise. A PC gives you access to a ton more games/entertainment that a PS5 can't even hold a candle to. Personally I'd invest the $700 somehow to get more money so I could afford more future-proofed hardware, but you could also auction snipe on ebay and make that $700 bring in a lot more value. But even just building a PC for $700 will be a lot of bang for your buck on top of tweaking and overclocking to milk out more performance you should be able to play any modern game in at least medium settings, with just about everything pre 2020 at high.

Post your specs if you're looking for an upgrade. For AM4 I'd suggest a 5700X3D and an RX 7800XT or RTX 4070 if It's on sale. For LGA1700 I'd suggest a 13600K or KF

Yeah, cause you totally dont save 20 on a AM5 CPU and 40 on a 7700xt

Eitherway, If OP has a gpu laying aroudn allready he will benefit if its a 3060ti equilevant or better, bassically getting well below the 700 mark. He can use old tower, ssd, PSU too.

Going AM5 will burn through $700 with only GPU and motherboard. How is that even a relevant answer.
