hot take...locked fps at 30
after testing all settings for 1080p, having fps bounce between 60 to 30 back to 40 bouncing everywhere it f ed the flow and spikes causes choppyness etc all this for med or low, settings didnt seem to matter allot even on high i was getting similar results

so i was like ok clearly game designed for 30fps so lets ride with it
1080p DLAA high locked 30 was soooooo much better then the variable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of trying to get 60fps, was 30fps ideal no but overall experience was so much better and the image quality improved ALLOT and iam playing on mnk at 30fps it was fine felt responsive no real issue for me
30fps you loose the silky smoothness of 6o+ fps but i was pleasantly surprised at how 30fps played on mnk normally thats defo no go

i think what i liked was the 30fps stayed consistent through out so you get used to it regardless of whats happening,

i havnt tried 1080p DLAA ultra at 30fps, man i wish i did to see difference, on high game looked great especially with added dlaa to improve the native 1080p image

i got old pc amd2700x rtx 2080, so cant complain, this is my back up plan if they dont optimise further for 60fps, might aswell reap all the rewards of 30fps and go all out on visual quality

we might see wild potentially being delayed if capcom thinks they can optimise the game for 60, especially with the console stats showcasing majority preferring 60fps
or it is really an engine issue and they actually cant

Likely scenario would be fixing visual and upscaling bugs and improve the performance by 5-10% max.

Yeah tbh i would expect 1080/60 4k/30 at most, just simply because of what the game is, The openness does come at a cost but i think its one thats worth it and 1080@60 is perfectly fine

I own one of the cards he tested (RX 6600) and I locked it at 30 fps (1080p) with FSR set to native. At least I managed to set everything to high settings that way without texture issues.

Anyone can agree that 60 FPS is much better than 30 but I can't say it's unplayable. PS5 is 30 on quality and 40-45 on performance mode with lower res, similar results to the RX 6600

I was playing on 3080TI with an I9-12900 running at stable 60 without Frame generation, as an additional data point

70 fps on native with maxed settings, but lowering them low-end level did not change much. RX6900XT Nitro+ here. It mostly comes down to CPU and NVMe sppeds(streaming).

Yeah i got a pretty good NVME drive, tbh its one of the most important htings for modern games making use of Streaming

I wonder if i can increase performance more with switching to a PCIe 5.0 one. My tests are based on a WD Black N850 PCIe 4.0

Interesting, I'll try this when we get the demo and see how it runs.

"when we get the demo"? Do you know for sure there's going to be a demo?

Genuinely curious how we will be able to optimally build for the game when it releases

We might even get another beta test before the demo

I doubt it, the servers were pretty amazingly stable, and that's normally what a public beta is testing.

How "might" are we talking here? Have you guys seen any indication of it happening or are you just hoping?

Some people are very confident they'll do a Scarlet Forest beta that was shown in the tokyo game show, we're still 3 months and 3 weeks away from release. That was running much better than the beta we just played.

Demo is almost 100%, they always release a demo

Not quite the experience everyone had.
