Performance sucks
love it :D
for me performence was perfect
Movement feels the same for your character.
Really looking forward to launch of the game.
The seamless transition between camp and monster hunting felt good. I see what they were aiming for with how the design went, they tried to get the open and interesting environments from World (such as the multi-level environments) and mix in the high traversal options from rise (mount). The new quality-of-life auto-pilot mount is a bit finicky but I think that's a problem with my unfamiliarity with it rather than a problem on the game's end.
I don't remember the weather effects playing that large of a role in World or Rise and I'm happy to see the addition in this game. I also like that I'm not seeing just many different varieties of dragon (which was a big problem in MH:World).
There were some little things that were a joy to see like the gathering animation dynamically causing the node to fall apart as you snatched up the things. You saw this most when mining the geodes.
There was a graphical option that caused all sorts of weird screen tearing but once I turned that off everything was fine. I didn't have any of the framerate issues that others were reporting but I built my rig within the past year so it's packed with some relatively high-end stuff.
Quests:
Starting them has just become finally not a pain in the ass
You can, open the quest baord to find a quest.
or literally walk outside and check the map and start a quesst from the map
or walk outside, find a creature, beat it on the head until the quest starts.
These expedition quests are also persistent so if you kill 1 pack mosnter the pack is now weaker by that monster and you have ane asier time the next attack.
Not only this but starting a quest with a friend is as simple as Sending a link invite then starting an environment link at which point any quest you start is also part of theirs regardless of how you do so
Travelling:
Sick of slowly making your way to that spot the monster is , or an item grows?
Want to do some loadout work or buff while you are on the move and double check your things?
Well you can literally use most items you can on the ground while riding!
Expeditions:
Been out for a while? Low on potions , max health and max stam?
Simple build your own camp in the wild, stock up on supplies from base camp and eat a meal before directly going back out with only as much downtime between hunts as you want
Item Colelction:
Just drive by grapple an item while hunting down a monster, no more slowly walking up andd grabbing it,
And it even auto crafts!
Also your handler friend will actively collect useful materials as well while on expedition alone!
And this isnt even touching on everything thats been improved, like holy hell the characteer customizer is way too detailed for how little youll see your character most likely XD
Along with mutliple levels of exhaustion
Can't wait to play more. Combat feels the most balanced it's ever been
For example Charge Blade just feels different than in World or Rise but i'll probably get used to it. Bow on the other hand is way more fun in Wilds.
But after over 10h of hunting, testing and just messing around, it seems like it's gonna be a great game.
1. i dont like the long hair options on the CC >:/ theres only 2 i find vaguely OK and neither were what i wanted for my character, im hoping theres some free DLC with one i like better on release
2. the whistle call and the seikret noises itself can get repetitive and annoying, i think the radius to mount the seikret without calling it should be a bit bigger, it feels too small right now
3. stupid scoutflies highlighting everything for no reason and gives monster corpses ugly green tint with no option to disable (fingers crossed it becomes an option this time around at some point)
4. from whats been shown, im not very interested in the story. they should just copy paste MH4U's story lol but it does look better than the past couple games at least (a low bar to pass but still) Honestly the game was giving me MH4U 2.0 vibes already so i do hope i'll be pleasantly surprised in this aspect
5. let me customise the seikret.... it was confirmed to be in the full game but I want to do it NOW damnit... just give us the game already and ill do it myself smh my head
It's so good.. The storyline, the region, the lore, the endemic life.. the weapon changes, the fluidity of combat and the fluidity of hunts.
Ugh, it's just a better World in every friggin way.
