Doubt you're the only one who experience this.
1-4 were best of bunch even if visually not greatest.
Generations on handheld started getting "easier" and world & after was much changed for ease of entry to appeal to a larger audience (which worked)
The hunts can be long or short depending on your skill & knowledge of monster you are hunting. (in worlds some people took 30+min to kill a nergigante yet if you know what you are doing you can kill it in under 5)
While I do not like rise/wilds as much as world and especially earleir ones MH as a whole is best time sink for players who enjoy hunting monsters (and ofc the true end game fashion)
