If FFXIV can get controllers to work in an MMO, MH can get M&K to work for their game. It isn't rocket science.
And you say "controller is mandatory" but I most certainly did beat World on M&K, and didn't need a controller.
To be fair to you, the menus in wilds aren't the most user friendly experience, but they're there. I remapped the focus mode and special attack keys instantly.
And no, controller is not mandatory, I played both MHW on controller (on ps4 when it came out) and on KB&M and preferred KB&M.
Look at Indie titles like Divinity Original Sin, that had massively more complex UI and gameplay controls and did major reworks on almost every game component to offer a good console experience in a gerne that was basically born on PC. And they did it again for Baldur's Gate 3.
It should be common sense to give a ♥♥♥♥ about the primary input method of whatever platform you chose to publish on instead of sending them off to buy extra peripherals.
Not blaming you, obviously. Just annoying.
