Right, and you factored in the years of development, the outsiders included into the project, and the costs of advertisements?
it's not like they don't make money for 5 years and then bam they get 1.5 billions in revenue one year, they've been making record breaking profits in the past years consecutively.
Right, and its not like they use that 1.5bil in 5 years time to develop the next games to come out.

Capcom's operating for 2023 was 0.556 billions, they made 1.5 billions and they still jack up prices
And then it goes back to making the games.
Its a business cycle.
here you got the operating cost of the past years: https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/CCOEY/capcom/operating-expenses

And here, their net Income for the last years:

It's not like I want to pay more but I will point out that games were 60$ in the mid 90s, video games (outside of GPUs) are the thing least effected by inflation that there is. Just pre ordered on cdkeys for 56 bucks though

First one doesn't work, second one does though.
Again, it goes back into the development of the games as well as the pockets of the employees

I mean, video game got a lot of silent price adjustment, the fact that prices didn't get lower with digital, the micro-transactions, live services, season passes, etc... the entry point to a game might not have increased that much in the past decades (compared to other things) but now a lot is behind a second paywall and capcom's games are filled with micro transactions, useless ones for sure, but still filled with them.

like I said, the reason these prices are so high isn't that much because making a game is that much more costly (it can be costly) but mostly, what the video game industry can't sustain anymore, are the salaries of their execs, shareholders and higher ups.
EarlSkrubb 1 NOV 2024 a las 15:52
that's the main reason why video game monetisation is such a hell hole

8years, spent 5.596bil total
Think you could convert the revenues too?
Edit: did it totalling 24.538bil missed a decimal point on the last one in JPY, correct JPY is 117.73bil JPY = 770,067,943.27 PROFIT/Revenue, which is .770bil/5.596bil, which is a ~14% profit
Net avg of 96.25mil/year
