Dont get the performance posts
Is it a bad hardware thing? At worst a few of the items at the base camp looked fuzzy but creatures all looked good for that I expect and game ran smooth outside of one situation during a lightning storm. No crashes, minimal visual slowdown with everything turned to max. Oh well, Im eager as hell for this to come out :D

The RE engine is not well suited for this game, same thing happened with dragons dogma bringing not so great performance on many systems. Every pc varies so not everyone would get a playable experience. Framegen is busted and some upscaling technologies are slightly outdated. Not everyone is rocking a 4090/7900xtx pc.

I modded DD2, discovered some ridiculous problems with the engine.
It basically cannot properly stream data. That's why 8GB VRAM isn't enough. They really messed up by not switching over to UE4 or UE5 early in development. It's too late now.
I don't think they can fix this.

what settings and what hardware and what FPS?

Im not on a Potato but not latest gen hardware - 3080 5800x 32gb and at 2k in the base camp I get anywhere between 44 - 52 fps at High Settings - Low Settings. Graphics settings seem to have no impact on performance outside of ultra.

Yes, if you are on 4090 7800x3d then Im sure your "performance" is spectacular. I dont think its reasonable to expect everyone who wants to play to rock a 4080/4090 to get 60 fps WITH DLSS.

Like yah my performance is bad because my pc is 5+ years old, but also 5+ years should be far from making the game completely unplayable. Ive been able to run games that look amazing and run like a dream, my pc is not a Potato by any stretch. Like sure the game looks better then world, but does it look good enough to be worth being unable to play it without dropping 1k on a new pc? HELL NO.

my 5800X3D and 4090 are tanking in performance on a 3440x1440 monitor at max settings. Some real issues going on. I can get above 120 fps with frame gen pretty often, but then it tanks to like 25 fps and stays there until I restart the game, and my gpu will be 100% utilized while CPU is around 20%. Definitely something is broken.

The game will sell most on PS5 and was probably mostly developed for that. The PS5 is 4 years old in 11 days from now and already had low to medium range hardware when it released. The game should run very well on a 5yr old PC with medium range hardware on medium settings. It doesn't though.
For the time being I will be coping by telling myself their internal build and final release will be much more polished...

And, Im sorry, I say this having 175 hours in MH World, but the game doesnt look anywhere near top of the line AAA and as far as it having tons of stuff at one time so the poor performance is justified, thats BS too. Space Marine 2 runs way better on worse hardware and it looks better and has more going on at one time.
