It basically cannot properly stream data. That's why 8GB VRAM isn't enough. They really messed up by not switching over to UE4 or UE5 early in development. It's too late now.
I don't think they can fix this.
Im not on a Potato but not latest gen hardware - 3080 5800x 32gb and at 2k in the base camp I get anywhere between 44 - 52 fps at High Settings - Low Settings. Graphics settings seem to have no impact on performance outside of ultra.
Yes, if you are on 4090 7800x3d then Im sure your "performance" is spectacular. I dont think its reasonable to expect everyone who wants to play to rock a 4080/4090 to get 60 fps WITH DLSS.
The game will sell most on PS5 and was probably mostly developed for that. The PS5 is 4 years old in 11 days from now and already had low to medium range hardware when it released. The game should run very well on a 5yr old PC with medium range hardware on medium settings. It doesn't though.
For the time being I will be coping by telling myself their internal build and final release will be much more polished...
