when Rey dau is doing the swoop attack with 1 wing digging through the ground
he will TP just before hitting you, just to make sure he hits, this has happened multiple times, even multiple times in a row.
i got a video of it, if necessary
it sounds like a problem others have solved by disabling crossplay; try that. Good luck :)
Issue: Was fighting a Chatucabra. Turned around to face the monster and a large mess of broken textures flooded my screen, resembling many flat planes colored like the environment. Game then froze. Music was still playing, nothing else.
The visuals reminded me a of an NVIDIA driver issue in MHW:I that was resolved by rolling back to previous drivers. I remember that issue seemed to generate out of snow flakes in Iceborne Singleplayer Hub or during a Vaal Hazaak fight. My guess was always particle effects.
It is worth noting that I do notice these same visual bugs in regular gameplay, in particular in the sand dunes areas, but not to the same degree I experienced here. They tend to distract, not overwhelm.
Other notes: Running game with FSR with frame gen enabled. Ghosting is very noticeable, but it does dramatically improve the feel of the game.
Compatibility: Currently using Proton Experimental bleeding-edge beta version (necessary for the game to run)
Launch options: gamemoderun VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_NV_low_latency2 %command%
Note on launch options: disable extensions option is used to prevent the game from crashing while navigating menus. I remember it happening whenever i was trying to select my weapon. Crash reports were submitted in these instances.
All updates to the system have been installed as of time of the report.

Even though I couldn’t play in the best condition, I still had a lot of fun facing the polygonal monsters. I’ll miss hanging onto a monster and wounding its skin, but I’m willing to see new things. I found the automatic attack mechanic on a wound a bit too powerful; it does a lot of damage and is very simple to execute. These automatic attacks make me concerned about how the combat might develop.
I started playing MH with MHW, and the coolest weapon I found was the Insect Glaive. The ability and freedom of aerial gameplay are incredibly fun—the ability to dodge attacks and chase flying monsters leaving the area is very enjoyable. As I played and learned more about the game, I naturally realized that the best way to deal damage with this weapon was on solid ground, so I began using aerial attacks to approach/dodge monsters.
The change in MH Wilds left me really disappointed with the game. I understand why they removed the extra jumps, as they overshadowed the weapon's skill set, even if that set was more efficient. In my opinion, the weapon has become very boring to play, with a repetitive and monotonous gameplay loop: collect the three extracts, then execute the attack that consumes them, and then the cycle starts again, however, the immersive aerial attack is awkwardly uncomfortable to execute. Although collecting extracts has been made easier depending on the monster, it’s still the most annoying part of using the weapon. At least in MHW, you didn’t have to collect all three extracts to access new moves.
I ask that you consider adding back the extra jumps and find a solution to the current repetitive gameplay loop.
Missing Terrain + Unusable Menus (Linux)
The title mostly explains the issue, but I’m pretty sure I’d be able to fix it if I could change my graphics settings. The intro cutscene on the title screen plays and renders fine (if a little stuttery in places), but once I get into the actual game, half the terrain just isn’t there. The collision works fine, but hardly anything renders. The terrain isn’t the only issue either, most of the wind effects (which I’m pretty sure are just meant to be sand blowing around) render as solid walls of sand. I’d be willing to bet turning graphics settings down would help, but I can’t interact with the menus. I can navigate them just fine, but I can’t change any of the settings once I do, not even sliders (on both controller and keyboard + mouse).
Anyway, if anyone has had a similar problem, or even has a potential solution, it would be super helpful.
