Could we tame monsters as a class instead of killing them?

I get so bored with this game. Killing the monsters has no appeal to me, but the environment is bar none the best. Could we team them instead? Could that be an option?

I mean this in the sense that we could go off, learn about them, and in doing so get the materials or behavior from the monsters wanted without having to kill them?

Monster Hunter Stories as already mentioned. Although you still do kill monsters in that too. I'd argue it might actually be worse, because you steal their babies, and then you have those babies kill their own mother and the rest of their family.

This is a funny take because in world you slaughter the parents and then sell off the eggs to be used for "research"

Definitely would ethically take raising your own creatures and being part of the eco system any day over the way hunters exploit the eco system to their own benefit.

There's a reason hunters and riders dont get along XD

That said, you CAN also capture monsters instead of killing them unless its a slay quest.

Monster Tamer spinoff would totally sell as a cozy game.
