New MH Series: MH Outlanders -> Open World Survival Game?

MH with Open World Survival, that's sound cool.
So it means that game has life skill (gathering, crafting, mining, housing, etc) and survival core element.

New Update:
This is the new update of MH Outlanders including interview and gameplay showcase.
I'm so hyped for this new spin-off. They really added survival core element such as crafting, cutting down trees, build houses, etc.

It's going to be Fortnite Hunter mobile. You'll be purchasing glider skins and weapon skins and blah blah blah.

I'm expecting serious monetization issues and very predatory behaviour.

Mobile and Tencent so I'm not interested. Granted, Tencent was behind MH: Online as well which was good, but they have an awful reputation. I'd be down with a crossover with Wilds, like getting some of the new monsters from Outlanders in title updates.

I'm turned away by solely because it uses the "world roster gang". Granted, it fixed the slap on design of a lot of weapons so far, but we'll see.

Yeah it seemed pretty clear to me that it's basically reusing a lot of assets from MH World, which is fine I guess.

Yes, 100% this. Until they reveal the full extent of the business model, I have nothing to say.
It's 100% possible for amazing gameplay to be ruined by awful monetization.

I love the concept though. Most of the F2P games I play right now are openworld sandboxes so a Monster Hunter flavored version of that sounds great to me.

I'm wondering if those sets shown in the promo art are bespoke sets for those characters....


Makes me wonder if they'll even be gacha...

aslong the items isnt paywalled and no stamina cost it will be a fun game for sure if your a MH fan

That wouldn't even surprise me. I'm honestly expecting there to be ridiculous paywalls everywhere. Hell, I could see that the moment you get to Anjanath you either spend like 6 months grinding, or pay a stupid amount for all the upgrades and equipment to just kill him in seconds, but then get walled again for the next monster in an infinite loop no matter how high your skill level is, because you hit like a wet noodle unless you pay up.

I would try it out of curiosity, but getting a phone able to play game is not something I'll be seen doing any time soon and while on PC (in case of bluestack or a windows client) I have better things to play with.

It looks kinda interesting that is true but unfortunately it is a freakin mobile game which means:

- Atrocious controls („gaming" on mobile especially action games is ridiculous inferior)
- Phone gets hot over time and it is kinda like you hold a small coal in your hands
- Tiny screen compered to a big monitor or tv
- Atrocious performance. Even in the announcement trailer you can see the low frames lol
- It will have a disgusting monetization model just like Monster Hunter Now
