Gathering Hub/Arena
GOAT

In MHW the gathering hub wasn't connected to the town so you couldn't interact with players by the blacksmith, botanical etc. I'd spend a lot of time messing around arm wrestling or emoting/stickers with other players it was a great way to interact and get hunter parties going.

Would like to see a larger hub with more players allowed access in the server, possibly more mini games, or multi access to weapon training rooms so players can teach each other how to use weapons.

I always wondered what PvP would be like in this game, there's many different ways it could be implemented. A way i feel could work would be a small arena in the gathering hub where players could ante in with zenny and basically pass time in the hub betting to see who could use traps on other players or use nets/tranq bombs etc. or just overpower with gear.

Cool, but there's zero purpose to having more than one hub in a MH game, outside of a LR/HR -> MR system. Even then, Frontier didnt even have that with 100 man lobbies.
frontier is a different game and a different genre, its made for troll pvp rust refugees, just because you cant see the value in an idea doesnt mean it has zero purpose, i could say the same for your comment
What the actual flying ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about. Monster Hunter Frontier was a Monster Hunter MMO that started on the 2nd Gen engine.

I'd love to have 1000 man lobbies, the problem boils back into if SOS is the main thing for MP. SOS killed lobbies in World, this is a fact. In Rise, SOS was gimped, but Lobbies got more attention, even tho they were 4 man (like in old games), and so players were policing themselves. You had less carries in Sunbreak's lategame, and because the playerbase was smaller, people could essentially tell others in lobbies "Hey this dude is a massive cheater" or "This guy is dead weight". Keeping SOS gimped, while also encouraging more Lobby use, such as better player tracking/Lobby management, would make it worth while to have more than 4 man lobbies. But if none of this is done, and we go back to World's system of SOS, we'll have 1000 man lobbies with no one in them, useless effort on the dev's behalf.

idk bro lobbies are still pretty active on xbox, not as much as before... for the most part people responding to SOSs are on a 1 man server, you cant say that for a fact that SOSs killed servers in mhw when players are sending out the SOS to play with other players in the first place

the only reason why anyone says SOSs ruined the game is because they didnt get the carry they were expecting when they fired the flare off

he's not saying they killed servers, he's saying they killed gathering hubs. even full rooms are full of people joining SOS's instead of actually playing with eachother, and usually not even using the hubs in the first place. last time i did a safi siege, i was in a full room with safi as the target, and it was still literally only myself and 1 other person in the gathering hub, and he didn't even join me for the siege. i ended up needing to do it solo. i spent about an hour looking for a safi room after trying to host one myself, and that was the result

How is it that you can say yourself "most people responding to SOS are in 1 man servers" immediately followed by "you can't say SOS killed servers" and not see the connection there? you literally cannot change the max capacity of a server in this game. they are always 16 player max. People do not send out SOS to play with other players, they send them out to complete a quest with other players, a difference it would be strange of you to ignore considering you are the one who made this post wondering about better gathering hubs and out-of-hunt player interactions in the first place

idk bro if you dont like the SOS system you can choose not to fire off in the first place, ive noticed lower level lobbies for safi or kulve are like that sometimes usually because noone is posting any quests, theyre just trying to join for either help or a carry. and on top of that if you try joining with a high rank hunter theres a high % chance your just going to get kicked from the party before you even ready up, so theres that.... id say the community needs help working on communicating and working with eachother, thats every game on the market tho, players seem like they are meth addicts and dope fiends, 0 coms or coordinating/tactics or strategy, just spam the same move race for 1 meta build and complain when they get rekt.

i for one dont take an SOS if its past 3 mins and ill cancel my own after about 5 i never saw or had an issue with an sos besides some random joining later in the quest just to boost the monsters stats and have a build not meant for that monster.

either way i dont see how so many people oppose the SOSs in game

if they add a filter to the SOS where you only accept certain lvl hunters with certain stats or builds that could improve things somewhat

From what I heard, the first few months of PS4 and Xbox were rather lively HUBs, but I know that was shortlived. On Playstation, hubs are rather dead, and like you said, XBox is waning. I think even on PC, even after the "ReturntoWorld" thing, lobbies are once again dead.

I do not like the SOS system, but I'm forced to deal with it because SOS killed lobbies. Not liking SOS has nothing to do with actually using it, it has to do with it effecting lobbies negatively. That's what we're saying.

Unfortunately, that'd be impossible to filter. Maybe limiting player HR/MR, but even that's not a guaranteed science. I think the best solution is making it so you can't SOS a monster unless you either Solo it first, or use a lobby first. Early game, you probably wont see much difference, but late game, you'll see significantly less carries.

how would that be impossible but adding a filter like youre suggesting would work ? bro just stop commenting you sound ridiculous

It would literally be impossible to make a filter for specific gear. You could argue maybe weapon types as a filter, but past that, you couldnt easily. Especially with every update adding more armor. Adding a simple HR/MR filter like Rise had, but to SOS settings, wouldnt be too difficult.

"lower level lobbies" Wtf does this mean?
and yeah, i sure would LOVE not to have to fire off an SOS every time i wanted to play multiplayer. That would be great! imagine, being able to join a hub.. and there's just people there that you can play with?! crazy
and no, i don't believe the MH community 'needs help' with communication and teamwork. This has been genuinely one of best communities i have ever experienced in that aspect, i'm sure if you played much of the previous games you might feel the same way.
you're getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players because the server system is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, and as i said, people only use SOS to complete a hunt multiplayer.. not to actually play together. servers being based on your steam region really doesn't help either, i know from experience that in most games the west (or possibly just the americans) tend to be hyper dope fiends as you say, but the whole rest of the world tends to be a different experience
