having more things to do in the hub would be cool. maybe they could take the ye olde game that people used to to and have a grilling competition with a monster in an arena, make it an official minigame. Or something idk.
maybe give us more pets to show off to eachother, me and my boi liked to chill with our cohoot sometimes... can we get a halk pet in mainline games? pretty please capcom?
we would have to have people to do this stuff with though.. my hubs have always been empty since a long time now :|
Some type of game room in the gathering hub would increase interaction more so, they could add card games, dice games, darts etc. this all gives players something to do while potentially waiting for the rest of their party to ready up.
Adding to all this they could add a barrack/map room where players could warm up and map out an attack or strategy and assign roles/gear etc.
Jumping into a 5 min Fatalis SOS can potentially get the other player killed if their Palico leaves while they wait on you to get there. So being able to have everyone ready and prepared together at the same time eliminates that issue. We dont know what they have planned for elder dragons, they could potentially have world bosses where all players in a lobby have to work together against greater monsters.
Its all speculation, advice, and suggestions... if anything is pointless its me telling someone it is in a thread about a game theyre talking about... i dont think you should go play another game though.
If they push for lobbies being the main hub for multiplayer and NOT SOS, then give me 100 man lobbies like in Frontier. Then throw in things like the carnivals Frontier had for special gear, throw in more seasonal events. But until SOS get's either nerfed or neutered, you will never see lobbies hit full potential during the life of the game.
Like atleast 32 people in one session, that would be amazing.
Still play MHW on console and servers were full at launch idk about pc... now theyre on or off usually only Kulve/Safi/Fatalis/Alatreon theres still Event and Guiding Lands lobbies too. wont find Investigation/Tempered/Behemoth/Negigante/Lunastra lobbies anymore tho.
i like how SOSs work in MHW, i usually cancel them after 5 mins so theres no randoms boosting the monsters stats when its nearly broken.
IDK how how rise is, itd be nice to be able to post quests from players rooms too. MHW players had access to each others rooms depending on settings, a cool feature would be allow players to put x amount of mini games in their room to have more players gathering and using them as potential guild halls, different types of training/ready up rooms, or recruiting/barracks for new hunters.
In my opinion, this game shouldn't have gathering hub anymore. Nowadays online hub is so oldies. This game should directly apply Multiplayer Online mechanism so we can meet other players in towns and world map without access to the hub. We can create server room which consist of 4-10 players.
I do agree about PVP, this is a new experience if we get PVP feature. We can versus other players in different server.
In a gathering hub/safe area(s), I agree, it would be cool.
But I would never want to participate in a hunt with 32 other players, because:
1. It would be a huge clusterf***, I probably would be unable to understand
what is going on half the time;
2. Balance would be an issue, as the monster HP will have to scale and so would the damage. Just no.
a large town/gathering area where players can interact with each other, craft weapons, gear, items, traps etc. with some more intractable areas for players to pass time or train/ready up not connected to the open world maps would work better imo.
would like to see how the devs got it worked out, could be multiple large open maps like worlds just expanded. if players could set up camps with limited crafting and such outside of the town in the wilds that would be interesting to see, possibly set up raid camps where you can lure monsters into traps and bombs/artillery etc.
Sieges in World handled it decently, 4 teams of 4 all contributing to a grand total score. However, Frontier did mass quests the best with Raviente. You have 4 squads of 4, and each squad is assigned a specific part. If the part breaks for one group, it breaks for everyone. You do this 5 times in a row and get a large reward pool.
