they are already very vicious about other games using monster hunter monsters in mods
their stance on mods has been for the longest time "we don't care, just keep it to yourself and don't come crying to us if your game breaks" basically.
the only time they did any action involving mods in the game was the aforementioned anomaly quest situation which had the possibility of corrupting other people's saves (and whatever other issues that can come from using mods) if they unwittingly joined the quests
as far as i understand, the stance above really hasn't changed, at least as far as the games themselves are concerned. stuff related to mods has happened outside the games, but it's not like you can point at that and go "this is proof they are going to add anticheat spyware into the PC version that eats my computer and steals my bitcoins" or whatever people are scared of today lol
