I wonder how Capcom would handle mods for cross-play
Mods are something that Capcom already tried to "take care of" from players. Since cross-play is confirmed, I'm worry Capcom tries to block mods again, if it is even possible.

Mods with cross-play depending on the type of mod can cause syncing. In all honestly they might try and limit them in some way. But its really hard to outright stop mods.

capcom is not a mod friendly company
they are already very vicious about other games using monster hunter monsters in mods

Actually, they dont seem to be that hostile to MH mods in other games. I know the Ark one was a big one, but that was done by the company that makes Ark itself, not Capcom.

you sure it wasnt capcom that took it down? i dont know why Wildcard would
probably there will be something to detect modded quests which are then auto removed from the sos flares or a warning is put on them, something similar happened in sunbreak with anomaly quests (just a warning added to them iirc), dont think its needed or even possible to do much more than that. its not like its a competitive game and obvious modders are already rare, and not exclusive to PC either

their stance on mods has been for the longest time "we don't care, just keep it to yourself and don't come crying to us if your game breaks" basically.
the only time they did any action involving mods in the game was the aforementioned anomaly quest situation which had the possibility of corrupting other people's saves (and whatever other issues that can come from using mods) if they unwittingly joined the quests

as far as i understand, the stance above really hasn't changed, at least as far as the games themselves are concerned. stuff related to mods has happened outside the games, but it's not like you can point at that and go "this is proof they are going to add anticheat spyware into the PC version that eats my computer and steals my bitcoins" or whatever people are scared of today lol

Yeah, the mod creator said it wasnt Capcom, said it was Wildcard themselves out of "fear of copyright".
