ED-E Glitch
So, I decided to go to Primm and find ED-E to make him my companion. However, after repairing him my only dialouge option was "<Log Off>". I was wondering if anyone knew a solution to this because I have neither found any other post on this or a patch.

And if it makes a difference I have done all dlc prior to repairing ED-E and have completed the storyline and am using the Continue After Games Ending mod.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

I'm certain I recall hearing about this glitch before but I'll be damned if I can find any reference to it now.

All I can think of right now is to try fast travelling, and/or waiting 24+ hours, then trying to speak to him again.

I also have a feeling it may be caused by the game using the wrong instance of ED-E as there are several variants depending on whether you upgraded his weapons or armour, and another one from Lonesome Road, so it might be worth using the console and clicking on him to check which ID he is currently, though more than likely it's a quest stage bug.

Fast travelling and waiting didn't work. And the ID shows that its the default Mojave ED-E with no upgrades (and I didn't upgrade ED-E in Lonesome Road). I agree it may be a quest stage bug. Well, thanks for the help anyways.

A bit of googling turned up this thread from a "play after main quest" mod, I don't know if it's the same one you were using though. Read both posts by AltDunmer.

It may be related since you said you'd finished the main storyline already.
Unfortunately he gives scripting fixes rather than console commands which is a bit more involved and most likely won't work retroactively.

If this was the cause then 001572e8 VDialogueEDE seems the likely candidate for fixing this issue.
Maybe try this which was suggested on the fallout wikia for a slightly different issue.
(you may not need the second line)

resetquest 001572e8
setstage 001572E8 10

The first solution won't work because I'm using the Continue After Games Ending mod (http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42428). And I tried the second; it didn't work either.

Have you tried disabling then re-enabling ED-E followed by running the resetquest stuff again?
Also reading through the comments for that mod it would appear that CAGE suffered the same problem with ED-Es as that other one did. It does suggest it was fixed though.

None of those worked either, and didn't find anything relevant in the comments.

I've been up for a while I think I'll just get this mod I found that will give me the Lonesome Road ED-E as a companion and just call it a day. :p

Did you try the Disable and Enable command on ED-E ? It's supposed to reset the npc, so maybe it'll reset the dialogue .

I tried that. Didn't work. I could type rdf in the console as last resort but it would reset every npc's dialog.

Oh wait.. I think I solved it. My unlimted companions mod was the problem. Disabled it and it worked. Thanks all for your input.
