Crashing at start of Dead Money

Got the ultimate edition, but once Im down in the bunker at the start of Dead Money and enter the gasroom the game crashes. Win 8, brand new computer. ANy solutions?

I had the same issue with Win 7 and finished another quest and went back and it work. I finished "honest hearts" and then went back and it worked and did not crash. It was crashing right after the radio/gas cut scene every time.

go in to the lonesome road dlc gate then come out and then try dead money then it should work

Just as a note, I had the exact same issue as the original poster, and doing this actually fixed it after 6 failures to load. I had zero mods installed, all 4 main DLCs, no Gunrunners, etc.

I know that when you enter/exit The Divide, it resets a number of factors attributed to your character, such as hunger, thirst, and weariness. Perhaps there's a hidden value that it resets which Dead Money is attempting to check.

I wanted to also confirm that this does indeed work. Was having the same issue and this fixed it immediately.

You're a genius. I was playing hardcore, and eating food and drinking water to the point where I had no negative modifiers stopped the crashes. This guy solved it, for anyone else that comes after me. Make sure you have no negative modifiers as far as Sleep, Hunger, or Thirst when attempting to start Dead Money.
