Joining the Legion...any Compainions care to follow?
So I'm going to start a new game since my computer crashed on me last time and erased all my data (Yes Man missions and just got to Hoover Dam too! TT^TT ) and this time I'm going to be a evil bastard and join the Legion and see how much havoc and chaos I can commit! What fun!
But what I seem to have gathered from my previous playthrough (NCR ending) is that NONE of the compainions you can get to follow you (minus Rex and ED-E) are really ever in favor of the Legion! They will either leave you or keep nagging you for not doing the right thing! Its almost pointless to even have a humanoid compainon. But then again maybe I've misjudged some of them.
If you have completed the Legion ending, who did you have tagging along in your ranks? I have a feeling that possibly Raul or Lilly might be okay, but I just want to make sure so I'm not having to deal with all the compainion complaints on "Those Legion guys are really really bad!" and what not. I mean come on, FO3 had 2 companions designed to be evil (Jerico and Clover)...what the hell New Vegas? Did you just assume no one would ever go the evil route? Alternatively, should I take the modders route and download and evil compainon from the New Vegas Nexus?

Post below and let me know.

I think the only ones that don't care about you following the Legion are Raul, ED-E, Rex and Lilly. Oh, and maybe Veronica, but I'm not sure.

I think Veronica has her reservations about Caesar's Legion, but I've never sided with CL or have finished the Brotherhood of Steel's quest any other way--yet.

I think the only hard-limit exclusions are that Boone and Arcade won't join you if you go Legion.
The Legion requires you to destroy the BoS, which removes Veronica if she's an active companion. At first, Ulysses was planned to be a pro-Legion companion, but, well, he isn't.

She doesnt care, aslong as you dont KILL her family near her....If you do and she doesnt know heres a tip, DONT AIM AT HER FACE!!!!
She WILL rage and leave you with ALL of your stuff

But he still wanted to help them by nuking NCR... Wich i always do both....More items to be farmed, and more money to get!

So what I have gathered from the wiki page it states this:

Siding with the Legion can make keeping companions very difficult while following the main questline, and most human companions will likely abandon the player over time. Veronica Santangelo will likely leave when the Brotherhood of Steel bunker is destroyed, Craig Boone will leave when the player kills several NCR soldiers, and Arcade Gannon will leave when your reputation with the Legion grows too high. Rose of Sharon Cassidy allows the player to work with the Legion despite her dislike for them, Raul is somewhat supportive due to their ability to provide security, and Lily Bowen is too mentally damaged to have any opinion whatsoever. It is possible to maintain all companions through a mix of not speaking to Gannon, not traveling with Boone while killing NCR and luck in Veronica's case.
If the Courier is well-respected by the Brotherhood, and Veronica has never hassled the Courier for provoking the Brotherhood, then using the self-destruct password while Veronica waits in a faraway location will usually keep her from dropping you. She will instead tell you to never do it again. This is easy, as she and Paladin Sato (in the Brotherhood of Steel safehouse) are the only remaining members of the Brotherhood in the Mojave Wasteland (unless you destroy the bunker at night, when the patrol is out.)

So in the long run, Raul, Lily or Cassidy are my best bet. Which do you all think would be best if I was going down the super evil path? Also between Rex and ED-E who do you think would be more helpful?

Raul and ED-E or, if you like sneaking, Lily and ED-E

Or, if you like drinking, Cass and Ed-E.

(And not just a role-playing exercise - the CHA and STR bonuses without the INT penalty is always nice, and the extra DT from Whiskey is nothing to sneeze at either.)

you can fool them into following you and then sell them into slavery

Didn't need to necro the thread.
