Best traits at beginning for (Weapons & vats) player?
My style is critics using rifles with VATS.

My first trait is "Built to destroy"
Not sure what should be the second one, is "Trigger Discipline" worth it?

Thanks.

My opinion, Trigger Discipline is better because I like to go for headshots.
Trigger Discipline allows you to shoot 10% Slower but 10% more accurate.

You can't go wrong with Trigger Discipline. It works really well with VATS because of that 20% accuracy bonus (it's not a flat +20% bonus, mind you. It works like the commando or gunslinger perk) but AP cost is also higher so you won't get off as many shots. Outside of VATS you shoot 20% slower, which is the reason why I always take Fast Shot over TD. But this won't bother you at all, I think ;)

Skilled, Small Frame and Built to Destroy are the best traits. I hate the added item wear for Built to Destroy, so I take the first two.

But if you have access to Skilled at all (it's a DLC trait), it's a huge boost with no actual downside.

Well, even its downside is an upside in a way, in that it slightly slows levelling. It's not a significant drag early on, but later it draws out that creep towards topping-out.

Exactly. I consider it a bonus.

Skilled is also exceptionally exploitable, but that's a different story :)

trigger discipline is terrible, fast shot is far superior when you start leveling up your comabt stats you will not fast shot is a perk at probably 50 guns the 20% accuracy will not be in affect

Skilled and Wild Wasteland, methinks.

TD makes a lot of sense with rifles, especially if you plan on picking up Better Criticals, Finesse and Sniper as well. You may not shoot as often as Fast Shot, but you'll often kill opponents with a single shot from long range, anyway.

Looks pretty decent actually, assuming you`re gonna be shooting the hell out of any problems and not talking through issues. Well... you`re going to have pretty low Barter so weapon and ammo acquisition might be a little expensive.

Leave Strength at 5 and put the point somewhere else. You can get 3 points of extra strength from OWB and Dr. Usanagi, and if you use a Perk slot for Weapon Handling instead you can have an effective "handling" Strength of 10. I~d leave out Shotgun Surgeon cause you`ll probably get better results from headshotting with a smaller gun with that setup for your close range combat.

Don`t REALLY see the point in Silent Running either but then I~m not too sneak happy. Also you want Jury Rigging for your 7th Perk. I`m not quite sure but I think you might also need 6 Perception for Sniper.

No reason why he'd have low barter. Between Educated, Skilled and Comprehension, he's going to get a truckload of skill points. Not in the first 2 levels maybe, but still.

The build looks pretty solid to me. I'm sure we all have our own preferences, but it's got everything a guns/vats build needs to work.

I`d imagine he`d want to get his Guns or Energy up first, then Repair and Sneak etc

Barter just ssems very low priority, so there won`t be points in that until the upper teens or through Skillbooks, which you ahve to find first and not everyone knows where they are or goes straight for them like it`s about playing efficiently.
