Which world is bigger? New Vegas or Original Fall Out 3?
I am late to the party and had these games on my list and installed them to try each out again but i was curious which world is bigger and thats not counting the DLC that is.

Its not a distinct increase overall then like oblivion to skyrim huh? Each is large in its own way.

Fallout 3 will give you the most area to roam. Adding DLC to either expands them and Fallout 3 still wins out.

Apparently they're the same map size, roughly 16 square miles
New Vegas has more open areas, since Fallout 3 clustered pretty much everything into about 20% of the map.

Someone did an overlay map of the two and the main game worlds are the same size. Vegas is more clustered because they use the mountains around the edges to keep from putting stuff very close to the edges and corners. I don't know about an actual location count, though.

ETA: Ah, here it is:

The maps on the left and middle are the two game's maps individually. The two on the right each take the location grid from one game and overlay it on the contour map of the other.
