I really think this is true, my daughter swears she got to run the simulator, and it was pretty cool. Your speech does have to be way high, because I delayed speaking to Pearl until my speech was 80 or something, and I still didn't get it. If you really want to do this, I wouldn't even go to Nellis before having a speech of 100.
D'oh sorry for the thread necromancy, just noticed the date now.
Seriously? on all my playtroughs i tought it was impossible. in 1 of them i remember i had 100 ok speech skill(i did the DLC´s 1st) and talked to Pearl still no way she would give access to them. it would be really cool tough.
And lol,i only noted the date now...-_-
"Unfortunately, the VR pods in Fallout: New Vegas that are located in the mess hall & munitions storage can't be used. Loyal will deny the codes for them. He directs you to Pete for more information, however Pete can't be asked about the pods."

You can actually have a dialoge line with Pete about them but he will say that outsiders can´t use them even if you pass the speech check with him after he tells you the story on the mural.
Why would you necro a 5 year old thread?
Why do you think Bethesda had anything to do with the development of this game, when it clearly says on the store page they didn't develop it?
Why do you think the developers would spend countless hours on building a pointless flight simulator mini game in an Rpg that doesn't allow flight or have any aspects of flight?
Friggen stupid...
Nice ‘mancy though, yeah.
edit: GrandDaddyV, red herrings have a rich history in video games; has this never happened to you before?
