failed to start error code 53
Hi, can someone help me with this problem?
I got this when I click "Play" on steam, even the launcher not coming out, already do some googling with no solution.
already verified cache, reinstall, restart my PC, no good sign so far
EDIT: trying to install it on other steam library on my another HDD partition, it gives me the install windows when I click play, even it's already isntalled O.o

its not installed on your other partition, thats why it gives you the install window.
turn off your anti virus software while installing the game.

still can't, install with turned off antivirus, uninstall antivirus, still same problem

nope, is it a steam bug maybe? becauses i found a few people with same problem.

I'm having this problem in 2013!
Seems it's still not fixed? I'll give word if I fix it, please some one give a solution here if they find one :(

I just faced the same problem, fixed it pretty quickly! You have to delete the appropriate appmanifest from the steamapps folder then restart steam and everything should be fine, at least it was for me!

Thank you so much! I went to the drive that had Fallout NV installed, found the "appmanifest" file in the steamapps folder, I could tell it was the appropriate file because since I had tried to open Fallout NV at 7:00pm, it was the file recently modified at 7:00pm. I deleted the file with steam running, restarted steam, and Fallout NV started right up. Thanks a lot, hopefully Phatty McLarge Huge and others heeded this advice before giving up!

Can confirm that this works. I have no idea why the app-manifest file becomes corrupted though.
