Try validating game cache.

i was talking to a computer tech recently and we did like a million diff things and it still didnt fix. i cant list all the thing bc i dont remember specifically what we did but i remember some. like we tried alternate loaders, unchecking DLC on data files, using some sort of fallout3 starter (idk), deleting the game data, validating cache, restart, shutdown, and a bunch of other things i dont have the knowledge to explain. OS: win7 CPU: 2.50 GHz Processor: intel core i5-3210M RAM: 8gb (7.87 free), 64-bit OS, GPU: intel HD graphics 4000. someone said that 4000 cant take the pressure but ive seen multiple people play on a 4000. need anything else?

I purchased the ultimate edition of the game. Upon playing the game for the first time, my game crashes at the first loading screen directly after hitting the Steam start game button. I'm trying to figure out why the game isn't working at all. I've reinstalled the game and verified the integrity and it's still giving me the same error. When I verified the integrity upon the first installation, it told me one file would need to be recovered. After this, it still crashed. That's when I reinstalled the game entirely. After reinstalling, it still gave me this error when verifying integrity.

I've done everything from Integrity Verification to Uninstalling Steam and Fallout NV to trying to download a mod that was suppose to fix it to manually going threw the files to alter some dll file or whatever its called to making sure my DirectX and drivers where up to date to watching NUMEROUS youtube videos and reading just as many threads about this issue.

I'm running vista and I know my computer has more then enough disk space and power to run it ( I made sure before I downloaded Fallout NV the first time )

....if theres an answer for this problem out there then many of us are missing it by a mile.

Hey you commented on my post about New Vegas aswell,Well I am thinking maybe it is your Graphics they may be too high too fun the intro.Try changing them down a little bit?

Everything was set to the absolute lowest it could be.....and it STILL crashed during the game's opening credits before it even got to the main "start game" screen. I even tried that " d3d9.dll " trick and it didn't work.

I disabled everything and went with the bare minimum in graphics and it still crashed. I haven't been able to get past the opening credits of the game before it crashes and the odd thing is sometimes it wont even go that far.

My OS : MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP-2
My Processor : Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @2.42 GHz
My Graphics Card : ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series
My Ram : 4 GB
My Hard Drive : 222 GB with 127 GB of Free Space

....I shouldn't be having this crashing problem. ( In my uneducated opinion )

I have the same problem, the difference is that I could play a few hours, and at some point the game crashed, I rebooted mi PC and then I start havin the problem.

I tried everything: Uninstall Fallout NV and Steam, the d3d9.dll trick, and nothing seems to work...

Now, it is weird... sometimes the game crashes at the startup screen, sometimes when I load my saved game...

Later I will upload my pc specs, Im at work right now...

(PD: sorry if I write bad, I dont speak english... )

You're lucky. I just joined Steam about a day ago and the first and only game I have is Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition and I bought it threw GameStop.com. At least you got to play the game. I haven't been able to get past the opening credits of the game yet and its been well over a day since I've tried everything I've seen on the web that could be considered a "fix"
