How did u validate files? Just verify game cache? that doesnt work for me...
I am really out of ideas. Could my motherboard be incompatible with NV?
Does anyone know if/how this crash was solved?
Brand new desktop* past couple months and tried everything to no avail. Always crashes on the loading wheel (black background, no slides or hints; music is on at first and cuts out; FONV crashes after ~3min of waiting on this screen) when waking up at Doc Mitchell's place.
*Runs Skyrim flawlessly on Ultra with around 24GB of mods (no, I don't use anywhere near that for FONV; yes, I use BOSS/LOOT + FOMM + FNVEdit and change load order as mods may require).
GeForce GTX 650 Ti
16GB RAM
i5 3570K
Win 7 Ultimate
Tried without DLC first, no dice. Then with, no dice. Then with DLC and mods, found out PN + WMM were screwing around, uninstalled FONV and reinstalled, changed the .ini's to account for HeadGen, ThreadedAI, deleted IntroMovie. Tried without, then with compatibility mode: XP SP3, then Win 7.
Keeping in mind every single time I change one thing in the list^, I would reset AI I! and the FalloutNVLauncher before using FNV4GB+SKSE (everything is latest update as well, drivers included; d3d9.dll was also checked).
Finally, reinstalled Windows, then Steam, then FONV, then verified game file integrity(?) through Steam; no mods. Nothing further than the load wheel after the intro movie.
Best to contact Steam/Bethesda at this point, or just give up on playing FONV?
