One thing you could try is to wait for some days in the game so the area resets (removing old bodies on the ground). My theory was that the game somehow couldn't handle all the different crap on the ground in a small area. After the area reset, I got through OWB alright, but still it's just guesswork.
For me, the crashes were always on area transitions and quick travel.
You don't have to delete the mod entirely, but disable and uninstall so you could reinstall later and not have to download the mod again and would save a lot of time.
Another thing I was think of before you do all this is look at each indivdiual esp and see what those esps require and make sure that you have those required esms installed. Like for example a weapon mod esp that requires a esm associated with the mod but can be downloaded seperately.
