How do I install mods?

Mods are pretty easy, all you have to do is extract the files into your Data folder (Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data). Then once you start up the game select 'Data Files' and choose to activate the .esp you just put in your Data folder.

If you're planning on instally many mods then I'd advise you get a mod manager (best is probably Nexus Mod Manager, as it is fully integrated with the Nexus website) and get BOSS to deal with load order. Mod pages will tell you whether they require other things - common requirements are NVSE (basically just a different .exe you have to run the game through) or Archive Invalidation (you download something and press a button).

You'll have to go in the GECK (The modding software for NV) and make yourself one. I think Al has a tutorial on his channel, since so many people wanted followers like his.
