Guns build or Energy Weapons Build?
I have all the DLC, and was wondering if someone could give me a build to pwn well. I don't play in Hcore mode but want to annihilate.

Either one works, it really depends on how YOU prefer to play. I do recommend not mixing the two though, while being jack of all trades can be fun you can only carry so many of those tools around.

For me there's something simply satisfying about the good ole fashion gunpowder weapons. Get a repeater rifle or take lots of shotgun & reloader perks to be a real death dealer. Guns are also highly preffered if you're doing the McCarin bounties where headshot = a no no. Energy weapons have a high chance of disinigrating your target but if the caps don't matter... blast away!

If you go energy choose laser

There is nothing in either group that doesn`t have a rough equivalent in the other, though Energy weapons only have three ammo types as opposed to the dozen or so guns has, so ammo supply is generally less complicated.

If you want to annihilate - Big Guns.

Otherwise, as said, both are pretty interchangeable. Guns are better in the early game (with the availability of AP ammo for armored opponents and more projectile ammo available early in general) but both are fine at mid to end game. Though guns do tend to require more ammo management - your pistol and rifle will probably (unless you're doing the cowboy 'pistol and carbine in same caliber ' thing) use different, non-interchangeable ammo.

Hell, even *melee* is a very viable playstyle in vanilla, non-hardcore (there's a reason we try to avoid that stuff IRL) You have a ton of HP and run really fast to close the distance.
Early on Guns are cheaper. If you have a decent enough NPC draw distance, a Varmint Rifle and a decent amount of 5.56mm ammo pretty much kills everything that has a chance to do damage.

If you go melee, though, Sneak is your friend.

I liked Doc Mitchell's description of my character once: "... go deathclaw huntin' with a switch."

I'm resurrecting this topic as im asking if anyone can give me a detailed build.

Guns guns guns. All the way. Energy weapons are alright, but it's absolutely hilarious tearing apart multiple fiends with a single well placed Explosive Round Anti-Matter shot.

And all while sitting comfortably a mountain top away. They don't even know what hit them.

Can you give me a specific build? Like, that details SPECIAl and perks?

Is it really that hard for some people to decide on how THEY should build THEIR characters?

You can take a look over the perks and instantly know if they would be useful to you...
It really is not that difficult. It's a light RPG, you can decide things for yourself. That's part of the fun.
