Private Halford wont go away

I can not get rid of Halford no matter what. After clearing the cave of the lakelurks and exiting the cave, he still keeps by my side and when I talk to him all he will say is that we still need to "deal with the freaks" before he will say anything further.
Not sure how to get rid of him now, but on the other hand, I do have an extra hired gun.

Maybe I can get him killed off by running by some deathclaws...

I have never had him not get killed. He always ran off with me when I was clearing out the Lakelurks and gotten killed. Use him as a meat shiled. I think he's a "fifth man in the landing party" guy ; to borrow some Star Trek parlence.

Make sure he is not hanging around you for the Nuka cola in your backpack :D. but all seriousness try reloading a differnt save or making sure your companion limit is full. he wont be able to join if you have no space left in your companions list

oddly, he is not causing any problems in that area- i think if i go somewhere companions cant go he will probably disappear. ill let you know if it works.

Or you can just take your gun, point it at his head, and pull the trigger. Works real nice.
