I don't think Todd hates new vegas or anything, with his upper management position he probably just cares about making a game that will sell well or in the best case is to his tastes. I don't even like the direction of fallout nowadays myself but the way people talk about the devs is childish bs
Bingo. 100% correct. and the WORST thing in all of this is childish IDIOTS "gatekeeping" the IP by saying only "real" fans like x,y or z because the new devs have "ruined" the franchise.
No, you are wrong. If your favorite ice cream recipe is changed by "new devs" you have absolutely all the rights in the world to dislike the new recipe. Your favorite ice cream was your favorite because of how it was. And now enter some ignorant dude who never even knew of your favorite ice cream tell you that the new recipe is good just because he likes it. Of course he makes no sense, and his opinion is worth nothing for you.
Rejected the offer from Obsidian of making out of cycle games like a CoD partnership.
No love between the two companies over IP disputes and court proceedings. Which is funny in hindsight as by many of the things brought up in court, by those standards, future Bethesda games have been failures.
Nobody is telling you don't have the right to complain about the final product, I think Todd should have a bit more of respect about Tim's work and don't do stuff like that just because he think is better for the franchise.
With that out of the way, having a mental breakdown on Twitter and/or Reddit won't not only make It you a joke, but put the more chill part of the people who like Cain and Avellone in a bad spotlight. Adress your concerns about the franchise, not go on a rant about "TODD RUIN FALLOUT".
I don't like what Bethesda is doing If the IP, but crying on Twitter/Reddit won't change noghing, only making a fool of yourselfs.
I don't generally complain. I have seen this cycle how games change enough times to not get disappointed. I criticize. It does not come out of disappointment but just objective observations based on some criteria.
I don't have expectations of a new game. I read how it is and then move on if it is not my liking anymore. I can't even in my lifetime play all the games in my evergrowing backlog, so I am good even if no new games would ever be released anymore.
I kinda love all Fallouts I have played (that is 1, 2, 3, NW). They are all different games with their own merits. But very few games has been as awesome as Fallout 2 and Baldur's Gate when they were released (Played Fallout 2 before 1). They were mindblowing in all ways compared to games before (even though streamlined). That's why they allways have a special place in my heart.
