Trouble with NCR and BoS, have we glitched?
I've running an NCR character, but I wanted to preserve the Bos because my character has plans for them. I know a treaty between Moore and Macnamara is possible, but...

I completed the BoS quests with the holotapes and the change in leadership, and I decided to go with Hardin. I even joined them and was trained. I did not do Veronica's quest. I am now aware via google that the treaty is not available if you side with Hardin.
Wonderful.

Two things have occurred, one is that my quest marker will not update beyond landing in the middle of Hidden Valley, so I'm not really sure about these generators Moore is talking about, so I feel like even if I go in and kill them all (which I haven't taken to time to experiment with) I'm still not sure if the quest will update.

So I've been trying to brute force my way though the quest with setstage, to no avail.
I've punched in 100 different combinations for the setstage command to move past the BoS section, but nothing seems to click. It does not give back an error message either. I don't want to skip the whole quest though.
Any advice?

If you went with Hardin and changed the leadership, it's impossible to get the NCR and brotherhood to ally, only the original elder will consider a truce as you have discovered.
You have to kill them at this point.

In order to kill them you either need to manually kill the brotherhood leaders, or with 100 science (or taking a key from either Hardin or MacNamara) you can self destruct the base from their main computer. Doing that and leaving the base should update the quest for you.

The quest marker only goes to hidden valley because by default you don't know where the base is, just that it's in hidden valley.

It's always fun to read about people who go into this game wanting to have an NCR-BOS truce but almost always pick the ultra conservative as elder.

It's like putting a warmonger in charge of signing a peace treaty.

Not to mention that Hardin basically asks you to look for a technicality they can impeach the leader on. His crimes were so heinous that you had to dig deep into the codex to find a rule that he may have broken that nobody knows about.

Don't tempt me. When stumped my first thought was 'Well, maybe I can be colonel instead..."

If there isn't a way a force command it, I suppose I can always make my own brotherhood at Big MT, with blackjack! and hookers!
yeah that happened to me on my first ncr playthrough too. unfortunately you have to kill them at this point

I guess the bed's been made.
At least I don't have to tell Christine...
