NVTF Causes Black Screen on my PC
(New Vegas Tick Fix)
Title says all, and I found it out by simply enabling each of my mods and then starting FNV one at a time until the black screen occurs using Vortex.

More specifically though,
I followed this video when I first installed it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1Yu1mdyF0s

I reinstalled it and started vanilla, it runs just fine.
Then the black screen occurs when I installed all of the mods as mentioned in the video.
Deactivated all of those, and then I installed the "fun" mods, it runs just fine again.
That's how I did it.

Anyway, this whole thing is odd considering it ran just fine the first time I did this a few months ago.

Anyone else have an idea what's up with it? Did I miss an update or something?

Edit:
I know the video is archived, but this is as latest as Gamerpoets' video gets, so...

Edit 2:
BRUH OKAY

I just found out why and fixed it, but I'll keep this up in case anyone else encounters the same problem.

Apparently, it IS an update I missed or something.
Based on NVTF's mod page, it will now clash with NVSR (New Vegas Stutter Remover).
So yeah, just turn the latter off and it's good as new again.

Yup, I can see why Gamerpoets archived this video... and that I just have skill issue...

This has always been the case. NVTF was made to supersede NVSR, and the two were never compatible. Not that you're missing anything not using NVSR - once you disable the necessary functions to let it run on modern Windows, it's not actually doing anything anyway.

On the topic of GamerPoets - don't follow any of his modding guides, especially the archived ones.

Huh, they used to work together for me back then. Either way, I gotta read mod pages more often.

What's wrong with GamerPoets' modding guides? but yeah, I won't anymore.

Well, the archived ones should be obvious - they're obsolete. Modding isn't static, and both mods and modding practices evolve over time.

The non-archived ones...let's just say Michael has publicly stated he doesn't really care about being accurate anymore. Basically zero research or testing is going into GP guides these days, and feedback from mod authors and other guide producers on their video guides and procedures is being ignored wholesale. Even simple suggestion and clarification comments on GP videos are being deleted wholesale.

Yeah, I gotta keep that in mind from now on.

Damn, he seemed so cool... I've always wondered how I haven't seen any of the owners of the mentioned mods in the comments.
Is there a better stability/modding guide I should follow instead, or I'm better off on my own from here on out?

Either way, thanks for the info man.
