Question for Transgender Fans of Fallout New Vegas

Okay so obviously a lot of trans people like this game, and I am cisgender so I don’t really understand how trans work, but here is my question:

If you are trans and this is one of your top games, did you get into this game before or after being fully aware of your true gender? Also, if you got into it before, would you say there’s anything in this game that actually helped you understand or embrace your gender identity?

I have no idea what any of this means. But I will say that NV has a ton of gay characters and considering it came out before "sjw" was overblown and whatnot I'm sure that has a part in it. Just my two cents I really dont care about this stuff

Anyway, it probably has to do with just how good FNV is at pretty much everything it does, and that includes representation. Queer people just live. They aren't flanderized, there's no special attention given to it, and they don't parade it as something weird or flaut it as obnoxiously stunning. They're just people being people, natural, accepted. It's astonishing how hard it is to find modern media that is just so casually able to do that. Hell, in this hour-old discussion we've got transphobia already and there's only 14 comments.
Then there's the "Power Fantasy" part of it all. A group of people that's been cast aside, ignored, and spit on for decades, even centuries able to truly interact with a world that actually listens to them? It's not hard to see the correlation, especially since you get to kill so many fascists.

People like things. Trans, cis, white, black, we all like things. Who ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cares what part of someone's identity makes a piece of media interesting to them? It's no more anyone else's business than analyzing their identity in the first place is.
