I kinda want to ask what is the most FUN way to play this.
I played this game once but i kinda went and ... erm i' m kinda ashamed but i console commanded it, getting all i want 1 shotting everyone and then i obviously got bored because i'm freaking dumbass.

So i was watching Gopher play it and i said to myself " Ya know what? I'm gonna play it aswell"
I want to play it clean this time and also on hardcore mode and along another non game breaking mods, my question is : What is the most fun playstyle?
It would be awesome if you guys give me a link to a build or copy paste it here or just make a short comment saying what it kinda is.

I understand people say " Dude it is your game, play it your way "
But that isn't for me tbh, i already played it before so it is not like it's my first time.

P.S i have all the DLCs.

I can't answer that question for you. The most fun way for you to play is the way that you have the most fun playing. If you aren't having fun playing than either you haven't found that way yet or you may just not like the game that much. Both are fine.

well the way i play is on hardcore and just take it slow scavenge everything you can install some mods that add more items like classic fallout weapons and EVE and Project Nevada and new companion's like Willow and Niner and and also get unlimited Companions so you can have a small army and also i really like Wasteland Defense with that you can set up a fort and build thing and defend against raid of all type of Enemies and i also so say get some armor and clothing mod packs they add alot see not every one looks the same that's pretty much it and how i play

I think if you're going from over powered consolitis to hardcore, you are in for a bit of a shock. Try to avoid taking the easy way out. You will be challenged.

Yes but i still don't have a build
Example : You are a crazy guy with former survival skills who became obsessed with explosives thus using them to destroy stuff

Fine. You are a courier. Your primary, and only, skill is barter. You wear clothing only; no armor. You use a 9mm as your side arm, but may put no points into the guns skill. You may not take any combat-related perks.

I want ones that actually work.... and not die immediately

At this point we might as well play your game for you....

Understatement of the week.

The most fun way to play IF you have the capability which the OP seems not to is to play a melee only or a H-t-H only chracter or a combo of both or to be the ulitmate badass a 100% pure H-t-H with no weapons in other words no brass knuckles or powerfists.

For clarifaction melee weapons are any hand held blunt or cutting weapon knives, baseball bats, rippers, golf clubs all that jazz. And H-t-H(hand to hand) is fists, brass knuckles, spiked knuckles, power fists any weapon that relies on your fists alone and a pure H-t-H would be no weapons at all only fists not even the boxing gloves.

Belive it or not with the right skills and the right use of your specials (hint hint) and the right perks a pure melee or pure H-t-H chracter can be pretty deadly.Strenghth and Endurance are where you want most of your Special points to be in.

Witht he right perks and the right weapons like Two Step Good-by and Salt Upon Wounds power fist(forget the name) you can one hit kill most enemies. That and there is just something fun about beating the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of people espically while they desprately try to use thier pansy firearm aginst you to no avail.A true warrior kills with his bear hands.

Take your time, let things happen. Choose a faction that you find suits you best ( I went with NCR myself). 80 hours in, I've done just about everything you can do EXCEPT for finishing the game. I catch myself just wandering about the Mojave for no abosulte reason, and I STILL enjoy it. Even prompted me to spend a week in Las Vegas over this last summer.

Personally if u wanna challenge then just never fas travel no matter what happens and use whatever skills u personally enjoy along with really role playing and u should have a ton of fun imo.

setting out explosives and have enemies run over them. Don't recommend to try it with deathclaws tho. They tend to run around mines even though their eyesight is supposed to be poor.

A heavy slew of frag mines can cripple the legs of deathclaws if done right (and a good 20 or so can send the mother to space if you're lucky), but if you're fighting more than one, you better have multiple patches of them. There's better ways of dealing with them though.

To the original poster, I've had a lot of fun trying to min/max my characters (very hard/hardcore) and rushing straight to New Vegas at the start of the game. With the right weapons and know-how it's possible to take on the tougher enemies in the area (fiends, super mutants, cazadors and deathclaws) even at an early level. Killing a nightkin at level 1 with a straight razor is as humorous as it is difficult too.

Midway in my current run I admittedly had to use the console to give myself items (craftables like weapon repair kits and certain drugs in particular, since the shops DO sell them, but it's frustrating cycling their inventories over and over just to get them when you're sitting on a good 10000 caps).

Definitely seek out quests that you haven't explored before, try for different endings, good or bad depending on what's fun for you
