I did like the story , but I think it is the most linear of all of the DLCs. You are forced along a path you might not want to take.
The whole bomb collar thing is something else that most people hate. Would there be any reason NOT to kill ; or want to kill Father Elijah, just for that.
anyone who says otherwise is pretty gay
My daughter just did (in progress still) her 1st run through of DM and HATES it ;)
As for Dead Money, I thought the characters were interesting (and I never really trusted any of them for a second, which sort of added to the atmosphere), the gameplay was changed slightly to be a bit more survival like which made it quite tense, the atmosphere in general was creepy and extremely well done, the villain, Father Elijah, is my favorite villain from the DLCs, and I never want to play it again. That is simply because the atmosphere, gameplay, characters and everything in general was really ominous, creepy, tense, and unnerving to the point where it made me desperatly search through everything I could see to try and find some health items. It's still my favorite DLC, despite some annoying parts, and even though I never want to play through it again, it was a great experience and I really did enjoy it's....pure evil atmosphere.
Exactly this^^^
I agree.
I detested the "find the speaker" gig by running out and back then out and back... Then when you do find it, it turns out to be one of the indestructable ones.
I liked the characters in it - very nicely done. The story was also very neat but having those friggn speakers all over mixing indestructables around and the like... It just became infuriating.
For the same reason my daughter doesn't like it...patience.
The only way to complete DM is to do it the right way (if you do not use console commands to cheat). There is no "I'm tired of this so I will kill everyone" crap. There is no "I have a 100 sneak so I can snipe everything with one shot and even though it is slow...I finish with little trouble."
Nope...you have to fully earn this completion. In a game like FO, where there almost always a work-around or the quest is optional and you can just walk away from it...DM is a thorn...you either do it the right way or die.
Wait a minute...now I know why some don't like it...it's like real life. :D
I am going to try it with a brutish build this time just to see if it is any easier (unarmed, high strenghth, low intelligence, high endurance.) I think I will have an easier time than my sneak build high intelligence guy.
Also this.

That said, kind of hard to complain when you walk away (very slowly) having completed the heist :)
