Companion outfits and looks.

I was trying to look through the forums to find the anwser, but there is so many threads around, so I've just decided just to post my own question here.

Is there any way to make some of your companions to loose their headgear? For example Veronica always is wearing her hood, same for Cass and her hat. I'm not a big fan of any kind of helmets and I can't seem to find any way to make my companions get rid of them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

1) Hit the ~ button on US keyboards (¬ on UK keyboards) to bring up the console
2) Left-click on your follower
3) Type "showinventory" (without quotations)
4) Look at the list it shows to see which is the headgear item you'd like to remove.
4) Type "removeitem xxxxxxxx 1" where xxxxxxxx is the ID of the item you want to remove.
5) Give them through the radial menu the headgear of your choice (or not, as the case may be)

For Veronica it would work like this:
Bring up console, click on Veronica, type "removeitem 0016a26f 1", ???, PROFIT!

As far as I'm aware this is the only way to remove items you can't normally see in inventories so I hope this helps :)

I believe with Boone you can just take his hat off him and he won't equip any other until you give him one....It's been a while since I've taken his hat though since I like the look of it with the NCR Ranger Armour :P

Worked fine! Finally Cass is wearing Riot Gear without that silly hat of hers ;) Thanks a lot!

You could have easily found a mod that let you equip and de-equip companions :/
