note if you mess up fallout_default.ini just delete it and righ click fallout nv in steam and verify integrety of game cache through steam.
ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated guide:

1.get this http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35935/?
2.activate it in mod manager
3.go to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\data\" folder and click on "Fallout New Vegas ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!.exe"
4.point the exe to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exe"
5.point the ini to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Fallout_default.ini"
6.click activate
7.make "Fallout_default.ini" not read only
8.open "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Fallout_default.ini"
9.find line "SArchiveList=" and add "Fallout - AII-FNV!.bsa" before ", Fallout - Textures.bsa"
10.save
