Can't Find FalloutNV.exe?
My Fallout New Vegas works perfectly fine, until I try to load my NVSE loader. The NVSE loader can't find Fallout.exe, but again the game starts and runs fine.

NVSE goes in the main installation folder (where FalloutNV.exe is,) not the data folder or any other folder.

I've had NSVE downloaded and I've run the game with it, its in the correct folder.

If it tells you that it can't find FalloutNV.exe, then it's not in the correct folder.

This is the most typical install location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas

That's where FalloutNV.exe is. That's where NVSE goes.

It's in the correct folder... My file isn't FalloutNV.exe, it's just FalloutNV for some reason, I've tried redownloading it too. Like I said, I've had NVSE running and everything, but something happened and my files names got changed (Even though they are in the correct folder and fully operable.)

FalloutNV.exe being just FalloutNV is due to your operating system hiding the file extension by default. That's perfectly fine.

Do you have all the files from the NVSE archive file extracted and placed into the folder location in my previous post? You should have nvse_loader(.exe) right there in the same folder as FalloutNV(.exe)

Hey I had this problem too! Try running Nvse_Loader.exe as administrator! It worked right away for me :steamhappy:

running it as an admin didn't work for me, though...

I had a similar problem. Installed in the correct folder, files transfered over. I created a shortcut on the desktop to make it easier . . . thats where I messed up. Try launching the NVSE loader from the file thats in the same folder as FalloutNV.exe

A little late to the conversation, around five years late, but I think the issue may be that you hadn't run the game yet - you need to run the game as default before you can start doing all this stuff. Hope this helps someone ^-^
