Project Nevada HUD Extensions Problem
So, every time I start the game I'm being told that "There must be a problem with your Project Neveda Installation, the HUD extensions were not detected."

This is, of course, bad. From what I can tell, I'm not getting any Project Nevada functionality at all. I'm doing this with the most recent versions of NVSE and FOMM. I installed MTUI before installing Project Nevada, and Universal HUD afterwards. I've tried letting PN overwrite files, not letting it overwrite files, everything.

These 3 are literally the only things on my new vegas installation.

From Project Nevada's description page after searching for MTUI.

In case you are using any mod that modifies the interface:
3. Locate the Data/optional/ folder. In there, copy the contents of following directory your Data/ folder, depending on which interface mod you are using:
* Darn UI, if you're using DarNified UI.
* MTUI, if you're using MTUI.
* Remember, if you're using the default interface you can just skip this step.

That is for manual installation. I assume that OP has used the installer, since that is the recommended way of installing and since he has not stated otherwise.

The HUD extensions that are missing are found in the menu files in your data directory. These are meant to replace the original menu files that are found in the BSA archives. As with any mod that replaces vanilla assets, you need to apply archive invalidation for the game to detect the new assets. You can do this with your mod manager.

P.S. Unified HUD Project has been made obsolete by an NVSE plugin called UI Organizer. UHUD is such a hassle, so I would uninstall it and get UIO instead.

Adding Archive Invalidation and switching out UI mods worked perfectly, thanks!

How is United HUD a hassle? Activate it last, let it overwrite. Done.

In order for UHUD to build the menu files with the correct mod extensions, it must be deactivated and reactivated every time you install or uninstall a UI mod. You also often have to install UI mods in a certain order for them to work properly together.

That's why it's a hassle.

There's also the issue of scripted installers sometimes failing (which has never been an issue of mine) and UHUD not working with Mod Organizer (which is also not an issue for me.)

UIO solves all these problems. It doesn't rely on an external script that must be manually executed every time you decide to change something, instead it handles everything automatically when the game is launched.

Mods can be installed and uninstalled as you please, without having to go through the additional step of deactivating and reactivating UHUD. You can even install them manually and allow them to overwrite each other's files; as long as the mod supports UIO, it will make the proper changes to your menu files.

Lastly, UIO doesn't actually modify any of the menu files you have, it does whatever it needs to do when the files are loaded into memory, leaving the original files untouched.

UIO is a worthy successor to UHUD; even Gopher realizes that, having made One HUD require UIO instead of UHUD. If you're using UHUD in a currently working setup, there's no reason to make the change, but for anyone modding a new installation, UIO is the way to go.
