Is there a way to get 2nd attempts at hacking Terminals?

Hey, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up at hacking a terminal at McCarren and it's part of my quest to do it, how do I get a second attempt?
Note: I don't have a quicksave of before I hacked it

There may be a password holotape somwhere (see wiki) or there is a perk to let you rety terminals. Generally if i get down to one life left and arnt certain i know the awnser i hit the power button and try again.

there is a perk you can take to rehack terminals called Computer Whiz (18 LV-7INT Science 70 REQ)

Also not sure how much you kmow about terminals but if you see a set of the same brackets facing each other: () [] {} <> with or without chareters between them, selecting it will give you a bonus, either restoring lives or removing one of the options

Theree is a kind of work around - if you are about to fail, just back out and re-enter it, which resets it. You can do this an unlimited amount of times.

There's always the console, press the key to the left of the 1 key. (It is this button on my keyboard anyway, might be different on yours idk)

Then click with your mouse on the computer you want to hack, and write "Unlock"
That way it will open, its cheating but if you really want to open it i suggest doing that.

Also note that you cannot unlock achievements after doing that, you can save after using the console, then restart your game.
Then you will be able to get achievements again.

Its completly up to him, installing mods can be considered cheating aswell.
So nothing wrong with it.
If he went on the forum to ask for help then i bet he just want the problem solved quickly.

Besides it almost doesn't affect gameplay at all.

So, after I used the console to unlock the terminal, I should save my game and restart and achievements will be obtainable again?

After using the console command and unlocking the computer, save the game then quit fallout.
Then start it up and load your save game and you can earn achievements again.

Open the console click on the computer and type in unlock

Delete OS. Works every time.

Or, just save your game before you try. You can then load the save and try something else if at first you don't suceede.
