How do I kill Legion Assasins?

I'm level 9 with a 58 in guns but I just can't seem to do much damage to them. The only way I have even a chance is to lob grenades at them and hope I get lucky.

My strategy has always been to not do the quest that gets them pizzed off at you until I'm about level 20 or higher, than they're toast. :) Maybe go back to a save before you got them pizzed at you and go from there. :)

Aim for the head and get a good gun such as : gauss rifle sniper rifle 12.7 sub machine gun anti mat rifle ( I use explosive rounds for the scum) Q-35 matter modulator and wear power armour and take cover

At level 9 he might not be strong enough for most of those..Not sure though..

I always just turned the difficulty to easy, killed them, then switched back to normal. Once I got strong enough to beat them, I stopped messing with the difficulty. In later playthroughs, I made sure not to get on the Legion's bad side until I was already strong enough to deal with them.

Your best bet is to run, and lure them to a settlement you know that has enough gun to help you. Even detouring near a pack of nightstalkers could slow them down.

Use decent weapons. If you're armed with crap like 9/10mm pistols or a varmint rifle you're not going to do much against anything. Also, unarmed is way better than guns. Unarmed attacks do double damage in VATS. Again, use decent weapons. Brass knuckles aren't very good. A ballistic fist or even a power fist are much better.

Thanks everyone, I'll just have to run and if I get cornered, I'll turn down the settings. The best weapons I have at the moment are the .357 mag, cowboy repeater, the service rifle, and the caravan shotgun.

Remember that you can have up to two followers. Those help out a lot!

Use armor piercing rounds on them, or let your companions deal with them, like Veronica. Use a gun like a Service rifle with armor piercing rounds or some other semi-auto rifle. Semi-automatic rifles always have a ton of stopping power, except the Varmint rifle....

Not really, Legion carries antivenom, and I tried detouring near Cazadors (hate those fkers) and they lost 1 or 2 guys but kept after me.

If they continue to cause problems, what I did was I just used console commands to improve my status with the legion. It's too much trouble to fight them, especially at low levels when they will find you in any part of the mojave wasteland.

One can be a human the other can be a pet/animal. You CANT have two human followers at one time without mods.

Use world objects to protect youself and single them out (look for an angle where you can engage one but theres some obstacle between you and the other two assassins), go for the head or their weapon. You can try to use some explosive to cripple their legs, giving you massive tactical advantage. Also IIRC they have low DT, so use Hollow Points.

You shoot them dead. Besides I could kill them at level 5 with just melee alone. If you can't kill them with a gun, then im just sorry.
