Sell some extra items until you have the 2,000 caps needed to enter the Strip. Do a few quests around Freeside maybe. If all else fails and you get desperate, you can use the console to add what you need (player.additem f 2000)

that or walk around to camp mccarran and put on a suit of NCR armor. (either from a Dead NCR trooper, or from a crate near contreas) and use the monorail.

or you could kill some fiends and sell their gear at various stores. its only 2000 bucks for a credit check

doc mitchell has a secret caps vault under the house you have to kill everyone in good springs then you will unlock a special dialogue option when you talk to doc mitchell that will initiate a fight with him after you kill him grab the secret note on his corpse and that will tell you the password required for the terminal to open the secret caps vault

I normally just sneak kill all of the securitrons and take their key to enter vegas.

lol, don't speedrun the main questline, go do any and all quests along the way, explore.

Oh, and when you're trading, always leave with a profit margin.

Maybe he's roleplaying a guy who doesn't like to kill people or loot the dead.
You don't actually pay the 2000 caps, it's just the 'trons checking to see if you have enough money to gamble

Go to Mick and Ralphs in freeside. I think one of them has an option to buy a pass for 500.

Or you can complete the Kings questline and ask him for caps or a ticket into the Strip.

kinda a waste of the King's favor but if thats what you want to use it for, fine. its just HAVING 2000 caps you don't even have to spend them. and you can get those caps winning blackjack in the atomic wrangler in 5 minutes.

Do the quest for the garrets where you collect debts, then keep the money
