Is nexus mods unfair?

*NOTICE* if it seems like i have a "temper" let me assure you that was entirely an accident. If you truly care about this situation ask anyone on my friends list. they will tell you that i am about as tempermental as a sofa. Just saying i have a temper without knowing fully what i went through is pointless and is honestly confusing to me. I understand that it can be hard to tell or understand emotion through text but i assure you that this is not everyday me.


I decided to post this here because it has to do with fallout new vegas. And well because i had no where else to post.

I made an account on the nexus a month or two ago to get a mod for skyrim. Naturally i was happy and thought of all the fun mods i could download. I got one mod for skyrim based on soul eater, then i went to the chat and said something along the lines of "i wish there were more soul eater mods for skyrim!" after getting no responses i left.

After buying fallout new vegas i googled "what mods should i download for Fallout new vegas." and it promted me to got to the nexus mod page. I was happy when it turned out that i had an account there and so i signed in...only to find out i got banned for harassing the staff.

I find that considerably hard to do when you litteraly never talked to the staff before but what do i know. The think is my friend and my uncle both posted topic pages asking for help on this situation. My friend never got a response...and my uncle's got deleted from the site.

Why does it feel like some shady stuff is going on at that website. Is this natural for the Nexus forum's and nexus mod pages? Or is this some legitimatly odd stuff.

I also want to clarify that the issue was resolved. This is entirely just to ask for user opinion and situations. so just post your story if you feel like it.

Nexus' moderators and the site owner particularly and egotistical pricks. They always have been. Anything they personally don't like they will remove INSTANTLY without a second thought. However, throw up some nazi symbolism and pathetic clothing alterations for nudity and ♥♥♥♥ like that and you're fine. BUT, dip even remotely into the idea of animal husbandry and they will ban the mod author and anyone discussing it. They push an agenda constantly on nexus and it's best to literally speak to no one there.

Hmm...is it fair to be banned for doing nothing? Probably. But when you would try to tell me to pipe down, taking as a lesson learned, and swallow my pride for saying NOTHING to the staff? No. thats not fair. I don't know if all of the staff on that site is corrupt. But i can tell what time of moderater you were. The only lession i learned is that certain sites are just filled with power hunger scum.

And yes they do need a reason for banning someone. If they didn't it would be nothing more than abuse. Now you either pipe down or swollow your pride because i was in fact banned for no apparent reason. Either they tell me exactly what i did or they should stop deleting posts made by people who knows me or knows how i am. Its as simple as that.

I'm sorry, but they don't need any reason to ban you from a private website. The fact is that they have done so, and you are here; left with no recourse should tell you as much. I understand that you don't like it, but that's how it is.

Just curious here but...exactly who do you think you are? You seem like nothing more than a bully that harassed people on the site when you were active. You should probably know that all that "nose in the air" an "stuck up" behavor doesn't fly here. Your a normal person in this discussion sir. And you should remember that.

Not to make you look silly here, but I was a moderator and community manager for a combat simulation website called SubSim.com. I have never posted nor read the forums on Nexus. Sorry to cut your rant off at the knees, but you'll have to look somewhere else for reciprocity.

Steam doesn't have a lot of user rights...but it knows that without users they are nothing.

Valve (Steam is the app) is more a distribution and DRM service. The forums are very much secondary. But to your point, that is the catch 22. Of course administrators and owners can ban for whatever reasons they want, but the communities that have longevity tend to be hosted by admins that are reasonable. I don't know the powers that be at Nexus, but given how you just flew off the handle at me for absolutely no reason whatsoever, I would reckon you probably did that on those forums one too many times. You probably shouldn't have done that. Again, lessons learned. :helloween:

Back on topic, just send in a unban request, or make a new account. Nexus mods are a horror story. Just swallow your pride and move on. Whining wont get you unbanned.

I made a pretty popular tattoo mod for Fallout 4, and after it became popular I was able to use the live chat. I was quite soon banned for "spamming" and "Homophobe comments". I'm bloody bisexual, why would I even make homophobe comments? Also, just because no one else is talking doesn't mean I'm spamming. Anyway, it was a permanent ban. I did everything to get my account back. Filed an unban appeal, no reply for like 3 weeks. Contacted 2 mods, no reply. Had a friend contact a mod for me, no reply. So I created a new account just to have it banned as well. ♥♥♥♥ Nexus Mods and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ staff. Seriously. They're retarded to the max.

When I asked if there was a version of the succubus mod that was censored I was banned for being underage when I was actually 18. It's a permanent ban too. I tried to do an appeal and it did not work. I am 20 and I am still banned to this day.

I just use it for NMM on a throwaway e-mail because 1) NMM will remember all my mods in case of an accident and 2) NMM simplifies downloading retexture mods.
