Can't Place Cards in Caravan?
I'm trying to figure it out, but I think it must be glitched. After I play a card in one of my caravans, it won't let me place anything but face cards in that caravan any more. It's just a red filter. I cycle through all the cards in my hand, and for each one I move it around every caravan on the board.

According to the rules, I should be able to place a card. If the only card in a caravan is the 2 of hearts, I should be able to play a 4 of hearts in that caravan next, since it's both the same suit AND there's no direction specified yet.

Does anybody know any mods that fix this?

Is this your first time playing Carvan? Because the controls can get confusing for first timers.

It is. I think I figured it out, you can't place cards directly on top of the other ones, you have to use the arrow keys to place it UNDER the rest of the pile. Which is incredibly obtuse and never explained, but so are a lot of the problematic aspects of that game.

It's explained that only face cards can be attached to numbered cards, and from there I believe it's pretty obvious that you need to build down, not to the side.

If the instructions were clearer, it might have been, but whatever. I figured my problem out.

Ten years later. Thank you!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
