Why does everyone think Dead Money is bad?
I recently got the Ultimate edition and with it all the DLC's. I am currently almost done with Honest hearts, then I will move on to OWB, then Dead Money, then Lonesome Road. But I heard Dead Money was simply poorly executed, why is that?

Probably because you get EVERYTHING taken away from you when you start the DLC, and you cannot escape until you finish it (which also gives you all of your equipment back). That, and the lack of resources can also be annoying to some people.

Restriction. People want to be able to roam free and do whetever they want. Dead Money puts limitations on you and puts you in an uncomfortable situation. It's alienating, but that's why I like it so much. It's different and is ballsy.
Dead Money certainly doesn't spoon feed you.

Here is why Dead Money sucks.

(1.The mechanics in the DLC discourage exploration.

(2. Bomb Collar. I actually wouldn't mind the bomb collar, if it wasn't for the damn radios and speakers. Why is every single radio and speaker active over 200 years after the war? Come on..

(3. The cloud. Again see number 1

(4. Lack of enemy variety. You literally fight the same enemy over and over. The Ghost people..

(5. All your gear gets stripped. I thought the explanation ingame for why you couldn't bring gear into the DLC was lazy.

(6. Bugs.. Even with Yup installed, I've encountered annoying bugs in Dead Money. I was able to correct them with the console. Still annoying though.

Overall it's an awful DLC. I liked the items, perks, the story characters. I hate playing through Dead Money though. It's just not enjoyable..

Dead Money is not supposed to be about exploration or fighting tons of enemies. This isn't Fallout 3 or Elder Scrolls.
Basically, this is a DLC you should play yourself to get a verdict. It's a very controversial DLC, some people hate it, some people love it to death. Up for you to decide which camp you fall into.

No ♥♥♥♥. My point is I don't like it. May I remind you that you can explore freely Fallout 2 and in New Vegas. So your comment is just a lazy copout.

They could have done better than one enemy.. come on now. Unless you count radroaches and a couple turrets lol.

Once I used the console to get 100 rounds for the Holorifle, the DLC got much better.

Dead Money /specifially/ isn't about exploration. That's what Honest Hearts and Old World Blues are for. Fallout 1 wasn't about exploration, it had restrictions too, what with that time limit.
For me it helped build tension and kept the main themes central. If I had the freedom to roam for hours, then it would lose its appeal. That's a big problem I have with OWB.

And what about holograms? Those were different enemies.

If thats how you feel. How are you not bored with New Vegas in general? Aside from Dead Money, you're free to roam all you want In New Vegas.

The first time I played Old World Blues. I didn't explore much at all. I pretty much did the quests and left. I didn't prepare my character well enough the first time. I was almost out of ammo by the end of the DLC. I didn't know enemies were going to spawn constantly.

Holograms aren't an enemy. They are a mobile trap that can chase you. They can't be killed only disabled.

I used enclave commander mod to make dead money funner. I made up my own story(in my head) where me and my backup were trapped in the sierra madre and we were looking for a way out but must get past the ghost people, traps, and the deadly cloud. By the end of the DLC I had lost about 45 men mostly from them stepping on mines, occasional death from ghost people, and them setting off alot of the traps such as the deadly grenade banquet or bear trap.

New Vegas keeps things in focus well. Character interactions and quests always tie into the main themes and you are constantly reminded of the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. Also, things like cazadores, radscorpions, and deathclaws north of Goodsprings make it a lot less of a free roam at the beginning of the game.

That's an interesting point about the holograms, though, never thought of it that way.
I enjoyed it just fine, not as good as Old World Blues, but not terrible at all. It definitley deviates from the main game in many ways, which is why I think a lot of people don't like it. Some people also found it frustrating I think, but I went in with a decent character and I got through it on hard with hardcore mode on without too much trouble.

I hated the bomb collar bit, but other than that it was pretty fun. The first time was horrible since I didn't have a character built right skill wise. Getting all of the reward at the end is difficult, but doable if you use certain abilities... otherwise it hurts leaving so much loot behind.

Because it's so awesome, people just cant handle something that awesome and so in order to cope with it, they gotta cry themselves to sleep, jerking off, using their own tears as lubricant.

It's an old quarrel.
Tl dr: after ending the vanilla game, everyone wanted to know more about the Courier backstory and Ulisses. Hints were left in the original game by Obsidian, and the hype was high.
When DM was released, its narrative brought more questions than answers. Many people felt confused, expecially since the dlc was quite hard and guided. Few felt "rewarded" by that proving expirience, even if, storywise, it was very well written. It needed the others dlc to be completly understanded, a point few liked.
So, to sum up: drastic change of gameplay+obscure narrative+"episodic" structure=rustled jimmies.
IMO, it's not the worst NV dlc. HH was much more boring. And at least, it's not Operation Anchorage...

Personally I didn't mind it that much, while yeah fighting the same enemy over and over again gets boring, and some of the bugs do require the console to fix; it wasn't that bad, could be better though.
